Katy Perry has cited Madonna as a big influence, especially on her “Part of Me” 3-D concert movie, which hits theaters July 5. Perry says the film was partially inspired by the Queen of Pop’s 1991 film “Truth or Dare.”

In a recent interview with Teen Vogue, the always-colorful starlet spoke about her upcoming big-screen adventure and how “Truth or Dare” led to its creation.

“Madonna is everything to me, and that movie is amazing, because it caught her at a time when she was a bit more vulnerable,” Perry said of the film, which chronicled the icon’s Blond Ambition Tour. “I wanted to do that too, to capture a snapshot of who I am now so that I can remind myself what I’ve lost if I ever do become totally jaded.”

On Tuesday, the trailer for the anticipated flick surfaced. In the two-minute preview, Katy’s rise to stardom remains a key theme of the film as flashback footage and photos of the singer’s younger days is shown.

Jennifer Lopez has just released the music video for her latest hit single “Dance Again,” which features Pitbull and has body glitter, random choreographed dance numbers, poles and lots of sex.

The dance-driven video portrays Lopez writhing in a pile of half-naked bodies and getting tied up with a “love is blind” blindfold by a shirtless man – who happens to be her real-life love interest, Casper Smart.

The final autopsy reports for late singer Whitney Houston have been confirmed and announced. The official cause of Whitney Houston’s death was recently announced as accidental drowning, and the L.A. County coroner released its final report Wednesday (April 4) that provides new details about Houston’s condition when authorities arrived on the scene at the Beverly Hilton on February 11.

According to the report obtained by People and E! Online, Houston complained of a sore throat so she decided to take a bath before getting ready for Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party.

When Houston’s assistant returned to the hotel room after running an errand, the singer was face down in the bathtub in 13 inches of “extremely hot” water, which caused a burn on Houston’s back. When police arrived on the scene, they found an open bottle of champagne, bottles of prescription drugs and loose pills scattered about the room. In the bathroom, they found an ashtray with several cigarette butts and a small spoon with a “white crystal like substance in it and a rolled up piece of white paper.” The report also states that the white substance was found on a small mirror.

Kristy McCracken of the Beverly Hills Police Department wrote in her final report that she reasoned Houston “possibly overdosed on a narcotic substance, prescription medications, over the counter medications and alcohol” and noted a “bloody purge” coming out of Houston’s nose, as well as minor abrasions on her face, arms and legs.

Aside from the traces of cocaine, Benadryl, the muscle relaxer Flexeril, marijuana and Xanax found in the toxicology screening, the report cited Houston’s body as being “well built, muscular and fairly well nourished.”

The Killers, Black Keys and Jack White have all been recruited for this year’s Firefly Music Festival, which is being held at the Woodlands at Dover International Speedway. Other artists who will be performing are Death Cab for Cutie, Lupe Fiasco, Girl Talk, the Heartless Bastards and the Cold War Kids, to name a few.

Firefly will rival neighboring events like Bamboozled in Asbury Park, New Jersey, but the Dover festival offers a little something extra by partnering with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s through their Music Gives to St. Jude Kids program.

The Electric Daisy Carnival will return to Las Vegas this summer with all the heavy hitters of the EDM world, as David Guetta, Tiesto, Avicii, Benny Benassi and Afrojack are among the first artists confirmed for the annual dance fest. The 2012 incarnation of Electric Daisy Carnival runs from June 8-10 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Other announced performers include Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Kaskade, Above & Beyond, Flux Pavilion and Knife Party. Artists like Tiesto, Avicii and Afrojack are returning to the Electric Daisy Carnival after performing at last year’s EDC, which was its first year in Las Vegas after maintaining a Southern California residency for over a decade.

“I’ll have over 500 theatrical performers,” promoter Pasquale Rotella told MTV News, “over 30 carnival rides, hundreds of EDM acts, large-scale art installations, tons of special effects, massive enough fireworks to rival the Olympics … plus much, much, more.”

The 2012 Electric Daisy Carnival will reportedly house 300,000 dance fans, up 60,000 from last year’s fest. More artist announcements are forthcoming, and 3-day general admission passes are now on sale for $275.

Justin Bieber’s latest release “Boyfriend” has debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, following behind Fun.’s “We Are Young,” featuring Janelle Monae, which stays at No. 1.

“Boyfriend” opens atop the Digital Songs chart with 521,000 first-week downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Since SoundScan began tracking digital sales (which first contributed to the Hot 100 the week of Feb. 12, 2005), only Flo Rida’s “Right Round” has debuted on Digital Songs with a higher total (636,000, the week of Feb. 28, 2009).

The opening digital sales total for “Boyfriend” is also the fourth-best for any song, debut or already charted. Here are the all-time top five digital sales weeks, according to SoundScan:

Justin Bieber dropped a new teaser on Tuesday (April 3) for his highly anticipated “Boyfriend” video. He tweeted the teaser from the Colin Tilley-directed clip that focuses on Bieber as he motionlessly floats underwater.

The first tease featured a shot of Bieber looking at the camera as ladies’ hands caress his face and chest.

“Boyfriend” is the lead single off his forthcoming album, Believe, set for release later this year. It was produced by Mike Posner and Mason Levy.

Madonna moved to the top of the Billboard 200 album chart for the eighth time on Tuesday, as her latest album “MDNA” beat Lionel Richie’s country themed “Tuskegee” to the top of the weekly sales list.

Madonna’s 12th studio album sold 359,000 copies in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan.

This is the fifth time in the 53-year-old singer’s career that her album has debuted at No. 1, following her 2008 CD “Hard Candy,” and she is the second woman to top the chart eight times behind Barbra Streisand, who holds the title with nine chart-topping albums.

Carly Rae Jepsen has snagged some recent success and recognition for her “Call Me Maybe” single, released under Justin Bieber’s label. But now the Canadian singer has revealed that she is collaborating on a track with Bieber himself.

“We collaborated on one song together, but in general, I was blown away by Justin,” Jepsen said to MTV News. “He’s so down-to-earth and very charming and very talented. It’s still a little top-secret, but it’s going to be coming out soon, I hope. It’s a really lovely song. The way he presented it was pretty cool. It was my first time meeting him. I was at the studio, and he basically just said, ‘What do you think of this song?’ and I was like, ‘Wow, I love it.’ ”

From there, the “Boyfriend” singer asked her to collaborate on it, and she happily accepted the offer. “It’s pretty stripped-down,” she said. “It’s pretty casual. It’s not too dance-y; it’s more intimate. It’s a duet.”

Justin Bieber’s highly anticipated sophomore album will address rumors, according to the teen superstar.

The young star tweeted today (April 3), “Here (at the studio) making music addressing the past and the rumors, clearing it all up in the music. I’m putting it all out there on this album.”

Bieber has been the target of many rumors. The major gossip that’s befallen the 18-year-old Canadian was at the end of last year, when a 20-year-old woman claimed that Bieber was the father of her 3-month-old baby boy.

Bieber’s forthcoming album “Believe” is expected to drop this summer. The LP’s first single, “Boyfriend,” was released on March 26 and is in competition with fun.’s “We Are Young” to top the Hot 100 this week.
