The follow-up to Apple’s 2005 album “Extraordinary Machine” may also be around the corner — last month Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid announced that the release of Apple’s fourth full-length will “absolutely be this year.”
Here are the dates for Fiona Apple’s March tour:
March 19: Chicago, Ill. (Lincoln Hall)
March 21: Washington D.C. (TBA)
March 23: Brooklyn, N.Y. (Music Hall of Williamsburg)
March 24: Atlantic City, N.J. (TBA)
March 26: New York, N.Y. (Bowery Ballroom)
March 27: Boston, Mass. (Royale Boston)

Kanye West and Jay-Z’s premiered the music video for “N—as in Paris” video, released Thursday (February 9).
The video was directed by Kanye West. Filmed in part during the run of Throne shows at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The video is filled with eye-catching kaleidoscopic effects, creating dizzying visuals. No wonder the clip is preceded by an epilepsy warning.
Given the size and scope of both the song and the artists performing it, the “Paris” video is also loaded with lasers, prowling panthers, pop-up-book cityscapes and models.

Bruce Springsteen to Release “Wrecking Ball” on March 6th

Bruce Springsteen will release his 17th studio album, entitled “Wrecking Ball,” on March 6th. The album will be released by Columbia Records and will be featuring 11 new songs. A deluxe edition of the record will include two bonus tracks along with exclusive artwork and photography.
The album announcement ramps up the next round of activity from Springsteen, who will make a rare public speaking appearance as the keynoter at SXSW in Austin on March 15. Springsteen and the E Street Band will be touring extensively in the U.S. and Europe in 2012. European tour dates have been announced at brucespringsteen.net.
“Bruce has dug down as deep as he can to come up with this vision of modern life,” says his producer. “The lyrics tell a story you can’t hear anywhere else, and the music is his most innovative of recent years. The writing is some of the best of his career and both veteran fans and those who are new to Bruce will find much to love on ‘Wrecking Ball.’”
Three of the songs on ‘Wrecking Ball’ will be familiar to Springsteen fans from past concert performances, including the title cut, performed live since 2009; “American Land” from the tour in support of Springsteen’s 2006 ‘Seeger Sessions’ album and since with the E Streeters; and “Land of Hope and Dreams,” which dates back to the late 1990s. Fans can stream “We Take Care of Our Own” and pre-order ‘Wrecking Ball’ at brucespringsteen.net.
‘Wrecking Ball’ will be Springsteen’s first album release since the death of saxophonist Clarence Clemons
Springsteen has been unusually prolific in the past decade, releasing seven albums (one, ‘The Promise,’ as part of an ambitious project around landmark 1978 album ‘Darkness on the Edge of Town’). His last studio album of new material was 2009′s ‘Working On a Dream,’ which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 224,000 units, and has sold a total of 594,000 copies in the U.S., according to SoundScan. His touring efforts behind ‘Dream’ and 2009′s ‘Magic’ were hugely successful, grossing nearly $400 million and selling more than 4.2 million tickets worldwide to 177 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore.

There will be no spinoff of the hit show “Glee” for Lea Michele, Fox revealed yesterday. Rumors had been stirring that a spinoff was in the works, as Michele’s character is set to graduate from high school next season.
“There will not be a Glee spinoff, but those characters will graduate and it’s led to a really interesting idea that I think is going to give us something really cool to dig into next season,” Fox president of entertainment Kevin Reilly said at the Television Critics Association panel in Los Angeles.
Van Halen Confirms Reunion Tour

Van Halen confirmed the long-standing rumor that they will be reuniting for a tour with original madcap lead singer David Lee Roth.
The announcement came via a video released on Monday on the band’s official site in which Roth is seen unleashing some of his classic high-kicking stage moves alongside his former bandmates guitarist Eddie Van Halen and drummer Alex Van Halen, as well as the group’s current bass player, Eddie’s son, Wolfgang.
The site promises that the first tickets for the reunion tour will go on sale on January 10.
Van Halen’s original bass player and backing vocalist, Michael Anthony, was kicked out of the band in 2006 after 32 years and replaced by teenager Wolfgang. After parting ways with Roth in 1985, Van Halen rebooted with singer Sammy Hagar in 1985, enjoying a string of hit albums and songs through 1996, when Hagar was shown the door and briefly replaced by former Extreme singer Gary Cherone, who only lasted three years in the slot. After bringing Hagar back in from 2003 to 2005, Van Halen invited Roth back into the fold several years ago and toured with him in 2007 and 2008.
In addition to the tour, the group are working on their first album of new material with Roth in 27 years. They recently signed to Interscope Records after spending their entire career on Warner Bros. Records.
