Swift Discusses New “Different” Album and Working with Minaj

After another big year from Taylor Swift, the country pop crooner discusses her new upcoming album, saying that her new songs are not about “moving on” and this fourth release will be a much different feel than her other three albums.

When asked what experiences stirred such an emotional album, Swift said, “I can’t tell you, because it’s a secret. It will be unveiled when it all comes out, because they all seem to have a theme to them, the records that we’ve put out so far, and this one is no different. It’s very different in what it’s about, but it’s no different in the fact that it has its own name.”

In speaking of Nicki Minaj, who she had a chance to perform with, Swift said, “I love her. One of my favorite moments of the tour was when she came out at the Staples Center and sang ‘Super Bass’ with me, which was, like, the coolest thing. It was like a dream come true, so it’s amazing to get to run into her and see her around, and I’m just such a fan.” When asked if Swift would ever collaborate with Minaj, she answered, “I mean, we’re not working on anything right now. But I would love to at some point. That would be amazing.”

Christina Aguilera may indeed be a good luck charm for the Lakers according to some fans. Aguilera performed the National Anthem at the last 2 games in which the Lakers won, bringing home the championship trophy for the fifth time.

She sounded great. My only complaint is that the National Anthem is not a pop song. I’d rather hear her sing it as it was originally written without all of the vocal acrobatics. They’re too distracting, especially on the National Anthem.

Taylor Swift performed at the Staples Center in Los Angeles last night. Practically everyone I follow on Twitter said they were going to the show last night. People just can’t get enough of Taylor Swift. It’s a good thing she’s got a new album coming out in the fall.

Taylor surprised fans when she brought Katy Perry on to the stage to perform Perry’s hit ‘Hot ‘N Cold’. The crowd went nuts!

Lady Gaga Announces North American Summer Tour

Lady Gaga released all the details on her 2010 North American Summer Concert tour. She is calling the tour, the “Monster Ball Tour.” The tour begins on June 28 at Montreal’s Bell Center and she will be performing the show in 31 major arenas all over North America.

Gaga told Ryan Seacrest in February some details about the tour, she explained why it’s called the Monster Ball. Here’s what she said:

“It’s still called Monster Ball, but it’s more of a musical and less of a concert,” “It has a New York theme, it’s a story, and the story is that me and my friends are in New York and we’re going to the Monster Ball, and we get lost.”

Are Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner Dating?

Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner has fueled rumors he is dating country singer Taylor Swift after they were spotted enjoying a date in Los Angeles.

The two Taylors were photographed side-by-side watching a hockey game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Columbus Blue Jackets at the city’s Staples Center on Sunday.

The pair, who both star in upcoming movie Valentine’s Day, have been rumored to be playing out a real-life romance ever since they were spotted embracing following one of Swift’s shows in Chicago, Illinois earlier this month.

Swift’s representatives subsequently claimed the duo is “just friends,” but the pair’s latest public outing has fueled dating rumors once again.

The New York Daily News reports the pair headed back to the same hotel after the hockey game and claims they left the Beverly Wilshire together early the next morning.

RIHANNA ABRUPTLY CANCELS GRAMMY PERFORMANCE

Rihanna has abruptly canceled her planned performance tonight (Feb. 8th) at the 51st annual Grammy Awards at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, according to an announcement from the Recording Academy, which did not provide further details.

Al Green, who won two R&B Grammys during the pre-telecast, will reportedly replace Rihanna in the lineup.

Speculation is rampant that the cancellation is connected to an incident that occurred early this morning involving Rihanna’s boyfriend, R&B star Chris Brown.

The Los Angeles Police Department is seeking Brown on a domestic violence felony battery report after he began arguing with the unnamed passenger in a car, said to be Rihanna. The argument escalated after they exited the vehicle but Brown wasn’t at the scene by the time police arrived.
