Mariah Carey’s newest song ’100%’, which was written for her film Precious, is a fresh reminder of everything we used to love about Mariah Carey when she was on top of the world.

Her latest efforts have been far from the success she once had, but ’100%’ is sure to change her streak of mediocre songs.

Jordin Sparks says she’d like to record a duet with Leona Lewis soon. These two newly inducted divas would be the younger version of Mariah and Whitney when they recorded ‘When You Believe’ for the Prince Of Egypt soundtrack.

Jordin says:

“I’ve met her [Leona Lewis] a few times, she’s so sweet. For the past year I’ve been wanting to do something with her, so hopefully we’ll be able to make that happen soon. I was thinking about a female duet like the Whitney and Mariah thing, but definitely in our own way and our type of music. I would just love to do something like that. I don’t know if it’s going to happen now or maybe in a couple of years. I know she’s just finished up her second album which I’m really excited to go grab, so we’ll see what happens.”

Michael Bublé remains in the top spot this week on the Billboard 200 chart for the second week in a row. Bublé’s album Crazy sold 203,000 copies this week, its first full week in stores, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

This marks Bublé’s second-best sales week ever. His best week came when “Call Me Irresponsible” started with 213,000 in 2007.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack comes in at No. 2 with 115,000 copies. The soundtrack’s release date was moved up in order to combat leaks. It may rise to the No.1 spot next week if it can stay ahead of Tim McGraw’s new album Southern Voice.

The “Twilight: New Moon” soundtrack’s release date was just moved up to Oct. 16 and we’ve got one of the tracks for you to check out.

Swedish alt-pop singer/songwriter Lykke Li’s contribution to “New Moon” is “Possbility,” a haunting piece of chamber pop that finds her humming over a hymnal drone and stark, metronomic piano line. “There’s a possibility all that I had was all I gon’ get,” Li sings through thick echoes. “So tell me when you hear my heart stop/You’re the only one that knows/Tell me when you hear my silence/There’s a possibility/ I wouldn’t know.”

Li, who recently ended a world tour in support of her debut album, “Youth Novels,” recently blogged about her contribution to the “New Moon” soundtrack. “I got to see ['New Moon'] when I was in LA for a show and an idea immediately rose to my mind,” said the singer. “It would take a few weeks before I even had a chance to sit down by a piano but then suddenly I wrote it while having a few days off in Sweden just coming out of a fever…I’m really proud of it and hope you will love it and need it.”

The “Twilight: New Moon” soundtrack also features indie darlings Bon Iver and St. Vincent in a duet entitled “Roslyn,” as well as songs by Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, Brooklyn band Grizzly Bear, U.K. outfit Muse and rockers Death Cab for Cutie, who claimed the lead single with “Meet Me on the Equinox.”

Prior to Michael Jackson’s death, Akon worked with the King of Pop on his comeback album. According to Devyn Stephens, Akon’s business partner, “They went in the studio and recorded quite a few records.”

“We have a collaboration with Michael Jackson,” says Stephens. “You’ll see that when the movie actually comes out.”

“You wouldn’t know that Michael is really a perfectionist. He always thought outside the box,” added Stephens. “Everything was out of the stratosphere. It was bigger than space. That was his whole thing and how he explained things—how he described how he wanted it to sound, how he wants it to feel, how he wants it to look. It was always larger than life.”

‘Hold My Hand,’ one of the songs from their recording sessions, is likely to be the first single from the This Is It soundtrack.
