Robbie Williams Pulls Out Of MTV Europe Music Awards Performance

Robbie Williams has pulled out of a scheduled appearance at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards.
According to a statement issued Friday by the U.K. singer’s spokesperson, the cancellation was “due to a scheduling conflict.” The statement went onto say that “all other promotional commitments carry on as planned.”
Wiliams was expected to perform alongside Jay-Z, Green Day, Tokio Hotel, Leona Lewis, Foo Fighters and Shakira at the awards ceremony, which takes at Berlin’s O2 World Arena on Thursday (November 5).
The singer — who recently ended a three-year hiatus with the single “Bodies” (Virgin/EMI) — is up for the award for best male at the ceremony. “Bodies” entered the Official U.K. Charts Co. singles rundown at No. 2 on October 25.
Williams’ new studio set, “Reality Killed the Video Star,” will be released internationally on November 9.

Robbie Williams Performs Live For BBC’s Electric Proms Concert Series

Robbie Williams made a triumphant live comeback in London last night (Oct. 21), as part of the BBC’s Electric Proms series of concerts.
Appearing at the London Roundhouse with a 38-piece band, including string and brass sections — led by Trevor Horn, who produced Williams’ new album “Reality Killed the Video Star” — Williams was in confident, relaxed form from the start. He made his entrance down a white staircase to current single “Bodies,” which entered the U.K. charts at No. 2 on Oct. 18.
Williams premiered seven songs from the new album, due Nov. 9 in the United Kingdom on Virgin Records. As well as “Bodies,” he aired what he said would be the album’s second single, “You Know Me,” alongside “Morning Sun,” “Blasphemy,” “Starstruck,” “Deceptacon” and “Won’t Do That.” Most of the new material harks back to Williams’ trademark adult pop sound, with little of the experimentation that marked his last album “Rudebox,” which proved a critical and commercial flop.
Stephen Davies, director of audio and music at BBC Worldwide said: ”We knew that there would be significant interest in this concert, but the public reaction has exceeded all of our expectations.”
UPDATE: Robbie Williams set a world record yesterday by having the most screenings of a live concert in theaters. The BBC’s live show “Electric Proms” was broadcast simultaneously in venues all over the world in 23 countries.Extra screenings are planned in the coming weeks for countries a bit further from Williams’ native England including Australia and South Africa.
Robbie Williams Reunites With Former Band Take That

Could a Take That reunion be in the works?
According to the Daily Mirror, Robbie Williams met up with his former bandmates in New York City at Electric Lady Studios. This is the first time the band has been together in almost 15 years. A source told the Daily Mirror that Robbie “is back with Take That in the studio and they’re all writing together again. Robbie wouldn’t be happy performing old Take That songs that he has had no part in. But if they can pen new tracks that they’re all happy with, they’ll record them and hell be back with them on stage”.
A spokesperson for the group says the report is “unconfirmed” and claims the band were in New York to “approve final mixes” for their first-ever live album The Greatest Day.
What do you guys think? Is Take That reuniting?

Robbie Williams Wants To Work With Take That

The singer was on Radio 1′s Chris Moyles show to premiere his new solo single Bodies.
He told the DJ: “We’ll see how it works out. I’m excited about it though – maybe doing something with the lads.”
It comes after the singer spent time with ex-bandmate Gary Barlow watching footage of Take That’s last showing-stopping Circus tour.
He said: “I was with Gary a few weeks ago and we watched the whole show at mine and I just thought it’s one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.”
“It was an absolutely amazing show. Loved it. It made me want to be with them – in the band.”
“It’s a bit like, ‘How do they top this? Hang on, how do I top that?’”
He admitted that he’s thought about joining his old bandmates on stage before but was worried that people would put it down to his solo career having failed.
Robbie and Chris talked about the singer’s interest in aliens
He said: “The perception has been that the lads have done really well – ‘What’s the other fella doing? I’ll bet he’s dying looking at these lot’.”
“I thought I’d actually like to go and do something and the perception was such that it was like, ‘Oh look he’s had to get up with these now, now that Rudebox has failed’.
“I thought I’d just wait off a little bit and get my album out and then I can go and play with my mates.”
Robbie has been working with record producer Trevor Horn on his latest album Reality Killed The Video Star, which is out on 9 November.
