Rihanna spent a lot of time “Venting” on her latest album, “Rated R.” She had plenty to vent about after being beat up by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in February of 2009.

The fight that took place inside of Chris Brown’s car a year ago following Clive Davis’s Grammy’s party, left Rihanna battered, and bruised. Chris Brown eventually was put on probation and was also required to perform community service.

She tells Australia’s The Daily Telegraph, “Making this album was a lot of fun I have to say, it was really good for me. The vocal performances definitely were influenced by the emotion, the feeling.”

“I wasn’t just singing lines. I was singing every word and every word meant something because it was my story. It was a lot more personal, a lot more real… I was venting.”

Thank god she didn’t go back to Brown. We wish you the best Rihanna!

Rihanna Is Going To The Grammys “Alone”

“I’m going to the Grammys alone…I’m still single.” Rihanna dismisses reports she’s dating Los Angeles Dodgers baseball star Matt Kemp.

Matt has a controversial history – a former lover filed a restraining order against him. But the baseball star insists the court order, which was subsequently lifted, is a “non-issue.” His agent said, “Matt Kemp is a consummate Midwestern gentleman who has never displayed any act of violence towards a woman.”

Rihanna insists she won’t be taking the stage this year after she and Chris Brown caused the producers so much hassle in 2009. She says, “We messed their show up pretty bad last year. They might be a little mad at me.”

I think it’s a smart move for her to go to this years Grammy awards alone given it’s only been a year since Chris Brown beat her up.

Earlier this week, Motown music legend Smokey Robinson also praised Gaga, following her five Grammy nominations. “I enjoy her music. So I think that she’s unique. Unique always has a chance.”

Rihanna thinks every woman should send their boyfriend flesh-flashing flicks of themselves.

The “Russian Roulette” singer was mortified when several nude images of her bare body — allegedly sent to former flame Chris Brown — were leaked onto the Interwebs back in May, but eventually realized it was no big deal.

“If you don’t send your boyfriend naked pictures, then I feel bad for him,” the pop princess matter-of-factly told Angie Martinez in an interview on the Big Apple’s Hot 97 on Monday.

However, the “Disturbia” hitmaker feels she has lost a great deal of privacy since the naked images started doing rounds on the web.

“I just felt like my whole privacy was taken before that and then, when that came out, I thought, ‘oh great, so now there’s nothing they don’t know about me and my private life,” the singer told Martinez.

Rihanna was especially shamefaced at the thought of facing her family after the nudes leaked:

“It was humiliating and it was embarrassing – especially my mom having to see that. It was two days before Mother’s Day, so I was nervous,” Rihanna recalled. “I sent her flowers first before I called and then she texted me – when the world is against me she’s always there supporting. If it’s wrong, she will still let me know but she wouldn’t come down on me like, ‘oh my God, what were you thinking?’”

Great news, Brits: Pop’s Bajan princess Rihanna is set to perform on the British talent show The X-Factor later this month. The “Disturbia” hitmaker will belt out her new single “Russian Roulette” from her forthcoming album, Rated R, on a program airing Nov. 22.

“I am beyond excited – it was the easiest decision I’ve ever made. A lot of people watch the show over here (in America) on YouTube and I personally caught a lot of it when Leona Lewis was on, who’s an amazing artist,” Rihanna said Wednesday. “So, to say yes to (show boss) Simon (Cowell) was an honor, especially as I know the show so well.”

Alexandra Burke and Cheryl Cole are also expected to perform on the results show. Meanwhile, Rihanna’s fourth studio album is slated for release the day after her X-Factor appearance.

Rihanna was praised for her “courage and honesty” as she was named Glamour magazine’s “Woman of the Year” in New York on Monday night.

The hitmaker was handed the honor at the star-studded ceremony following a tough year which saw her beaten at the hands of her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in February. Rihanna recently spoke out about her experience, insisting young women should be better protected from the threat of domestic violence.

The singer’s efforts to help others were recognized at the Glamour magazine event at Carnegie Hall, with supermodel Iman paying tribute to Rihanna as she handed her the prestigious award.

Iman told the crowd, “This year, we saw a different face of Rihanna. She’s an indelible image of worldly pain and now, more than ever, I am more than impressed with her honesty and courage… She has taken her own scars and used them to create a new story of strength and awareness.”

Rihanna dedicated the award to the strong female role models in her family, telling the audience: “I love being a part of a night where we’re celebrating women and such strong women. I really look up to my gran-gran and my mom. They are my two women of the year. I love you very much, granny. I love you very much, mom. They’ve shown me what strong women can accomplish and achieve. Without their unconditional love and guidance, I wouldn’t be here and I hope I can be an example to young girls and women today.”

Rihanna Says Going Back To Chris Brown After Beating Sent “Wrong Message”

Rihanna Breaks Her Silence On ABC 500x3421

In her first television interview since being assaulted by former flame Chris Brown, pop princess Rihanna says it was “”wrong” of her to take the crooner back.

“That’s embarrassing that that’s the type of person that I fell in love with,” the singer told Diane Sawyer on ABC’s Good Morning America Thursday. “So far in love. So unconditional that I went back. It’s humiliating to say this happened. To accept that? It’s a traumatizing experience.”

During the interview, she confirmed that Brown, 20, held her in a headlock twice and bit her on the ear and fingers the night before the 2009 Grammys last February. The attack occurred in Los Angeles’ Hancock Park neighborhood as Brown drove a rented sports car.

“I stayed. I even went back after he beat me, which was wrong,” Rihanna said. “It’s completely normal to go back. You start lying to yourself…I’ll say that to any young girl who is going through domestic violence: ‘Don’t react off of love.’”

Rihanna, 21, also hinted that it may have taken “eight or nine attempts” before she could finally leave the relationship.

“It’s pretty easy to go back….When I realized that my selfish decision for love could result in some young girl getting killed, I could not be easy with that part,” she says. “I couldn’t be responsible for that. Even if Chris never hit me again, who’s to say their boyfriend won’t? Who’s to say they won’t kill these girls? I didn’t realize how much of an impact I had on these girls’ lives until that happened.”

ABC will air more chunks of the interview on Friday’s GMA. The interview will air in its entirety Friday evening on 20/20.
