Rihanna tops the UK charts

Barbados-born R&B singer Rihanna went straight to the top of singles charts with “We Found Love” to claim her sixth British number one, the Official Charts Company said on Sunday.

Her six number ones in five consecutive years is a record unequalled by any other female solo artist.

The single, featuring Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris, notched up sales of more than 87,000 in just four days.

The U.S.-based singer is due to release her sixth studio album next month.

American pop band Maroon 5, featuring Christina Aguilera, held steady in second place with “Moves like Jagger.”

Spanish DJ Sak Noel, who secured his first British number one single last week with the dance anthem “Loca People,” dropped two places to number three.

In the albums chart, James Morrison held onto number one for a second week with “The Awakening.”

Rihanna is The New Queen of Facebook!

Rihanna has overcome Lady Gaga to become the most popular woman on Facebook.

I don’t know about you guys but I didn’t see this coming. Lady Gaga was the first artist to reach 10,000,000 Facebook fans. As of right now Rihanna has 40,664,950 Facebook fans and Gaga has 40,613,536.

The good news for Lady Gaga? She still easily beats Rihanna on the Twitter front, with 11,653,916 followers versus Rihanna’s 6,116,687. And according to Famecount’s aggregated rankings, Gaga is still tops among celebrities when her combined Facebook likes, Twitter followers and YouTube views are taken into account. Rihanna ranks third, behind Gaga and Justin Bieber.

Rihanna Takes The #1 Spot On The Singles Chart….Again

Just two weeks after topping the Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart with “What’s My Name?”, Rihanna reclaimed her crown Thursday with “Only Girl (In the World),” the debut single from her new album, “Loud.”

It’s the first time in the 52-year history of the Hot 100 that an album’s debut single has reached No. 1 after the second single. “What’s My Name?” slipped one place to No. 8, while “Loud” debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart on Wednesday.

“Only Girl” is Rihanna’s fourth single to ascend to No. 1 in 2010, making her the first woman, and first artist overall since Usher in 2004, to hit the top that many times in a calendar year. Her career tally of chart-toppers stands at nine.

Pink rose two places to No. 2 with “Raise Your Glass,” while Far*East Movement’s “Like a G6″ fell to No. 3 after three non-consecutive weeks at the top. Ke$ha rebounded two places to No. 4 with “We R Who We R,” which debuted at No. 1 three weeks ago. Nelly’s “Just a Dream” held at No. 5.

Katy Perry’s “Firework” jumped three to No. 6, Bruno Mars slid four to No. 7 with “Just The Way You Are.” Just behind Rihanna’s “What’s My Name?”, Cee-Lo Green’s “F— You (Forget You)” jumped 13 places to No. 9 on the wings of the “Glee” Cast’s family-friendly cover at No. 11. Trey Songz’ “Bottoms Up” was No. 10 for a second week.

Rihanna Hospitalized In Switzerland

Rihanna was hospitalized in Zurich, Switzerland, on Monday night following her concert at the Hallenstadion Arena.

Hospital officials have confirmed that Rihanna has been treated in the Emergency Room for an undisclosed condition.

“Rihanna arrived at the accident and emergency unit. We’re not going to give any details,” says Alenka Ambroz, a rep for the medical center.

She was treated for approximately two and a half hours and was discharged from the hospital at around 2.55AM.

Rihanna is preparing for her “Last Girl on Earth” Summer Tour. There have been reports that tickets to her concert aren’t selling very fast!

Be careful Rihanna! Take care of yourself!

Rihanna Did A Lot Of “Venting” On Her Latest Album, “Rated R”

Rihanna spent a lot of time “Venting” on her latest album, “Rated R.” She had plenty to vent about after being beat up by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in February of 2009.

The fight that took place inside of Chris Brown’s car a year ago following Clive Davis’s Grammy’s party, left Rihanna battered, and bruised. Chris Brown eventually was put on probation and was also required to perform community service.

She tells Australia’s The Daily Telegraph, “Making this album was a lot of fun I have to say, it was really good for me. The vocal performances definitely were influenced by the emotion, the feeling.”

“I wasn’t just singing lines. I was singing every word and every word meant something because it was my story. It was a lot more personal, a lot more real… I was venting.”

Thank god she didn’t go back to Brown. We wish you the best Rihanna!

Rihanna Is Going To The Grammys “Alone”

“I’m going to the Grammys alone…I’m still single.” Rihanna dismisses reports she’s dating Los Angeles Dodgers baseball star Matt Kemp.

Matt has a controversial history – a former lover filed a restraining order against him. But the baseball star insists the court order, which was subsequently lifted, is a “non-issue.” His agent said, “Matt Kemp is a consummate Midwestern gentleman who has never displayed any act of violence towards a woman.”

Rihanna insists she won’t be taking the stage this year after she and Chris Brown caused the producers so much hassle in 2009. She says, “We messed their show up pretty bad last year. They might be a little mad at me.”

I think it’s a smart move for her to go to this years Grammy awards alone given it’s only been a year since Chris Brown beat her up.

Rihanna Hires A Bikini Designer

Superstar singer Rihanna has hired a stylist to design bikinis for her.

Rihanna is such a fan of Celeste Johnny’s sexy swimwear she has asked the designer to create a one-off line of beach clothing for her.

And Johnny, the owner of Johnny Vincent Swimwear, is only too pleased to help after Rihanna sent orders sky rocketing by wearing one of her revealing bikinis during a recent holiday in Mexico with new boyfriend, baseball star Matt Kemp.

Johnny Vincent said, “She looked great… and I just got an email that she wants a striped bikini, so I’m kinda going over things with her assistant as far as, like, the colours that she wants.”

Rihanna To Cover Herself Up For Concert In Abu Dhabi

Rihanna is making sure she dresses rather modestly for her New Year’s Eve performance in Abu Dhabi. She was reportedly asked to tone down her live act to prevent offending any of the conservative fans.

A source tells Britain’s Daily Mirror, “Rihanna is tearing her hair out over what to do – she wanted to put on her most eccentric and provocative show yet. She knows that she’ll have to compromise her style to fit in with local traditions – but a huge part of her show is her sexy stage gear. The dress code in Abu Dhabi does not encourage excessively revealing outfits.”

Rihanna is reportedly receiving $500,000 for the gig and earlier this year there were even protests over her scheduled concert until she vowed to tone down her show and to conform to the strict dance rules, and even stricter dress code.

Rihanna To Perform On “New Years Eve With Carson Daly”

Rihanna is going to be ringing in the new year in New York City. 2009 has been quite the eventful year for the pop superstar. She is set to perform on NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly, the network announced Monday. Rihanna will join fellow Grammy winners Green Day for the two-hour special, airing live from New York City Dec. 31.

New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly will air on NBC from 10-11 PM this New Year’s Eve and then pick up again at 11:30 PM for the official countdown to 2010.
