Mariah Carey’s “Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel” To Be Released Sept. 29

Mariah Carey’s latest album will be released September 29, 2009 after being pushed back a few times.

“I Want To Know What Love Is” as the second single pick from her forthcoming new album on Island Records, “Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel”. The special 2-CD package contains the full album and an enhanced disc two containing four remixes plus two videos.

Mariah Carey Regrets Apologizing For Michael Jackson Memorial Performance

Mariah Carey wishes she wouldn’t have apologized for her performance at the Michael Jackson memorial.

“Trying to sing today was basically impossible for me. I could barely keep myself from crying. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to pull it together and really do it right, but I was literally choked up when I saw him (Michael) there in front of me,” she wrote at the time.

“I regret sending that message but I was very emotional and I wasn’t happy with my performance,”

“But we all did our best to give Michael the send off he deserves. I just forgot the world could read that. I thought I was just talking to my friends. I shouldn’t have done that because that was really only meant for Michael. That was about him.

“It was difficult just to get through the song because I feel as if I have been listening to Michael Jackson’s music my whole life,” Mariah added. When I was a little kid I used to sing all his songs. The whole world suffered a huge loss. The whole world is going to feel this forever. I feel myself blessed to have known him, to have performed with him several times and to have sung at his memorial.”

Nick Cannon Didn’t Get His Job Because Of His Wife

Mariah Carey’s husband Nick Cannon addressed the rumors his famous wife helped him land his job hosting America’s Got Talent.

The rapper/actor married superstar Mariah Carey last year and his career was given a major boost when he was named as a replacement for Jerry Springer, presenting Simon Cowell’s hit TV show, America’s Got Talent.

Mariah performed on the show in August to perform her latest single, Obsessed. And ever since, Nick Cannon has been dogged by reports he was handed the host’s job with a stipulation that Carey appeared on the show.

However, Chris is adamant the gossip is untrue and that he was hired on his own merit.

He tells Zap2It, “I’ve heard all the rumors that in order for me to get the job Mariah had to say she’d come perform. Like she helped me get the job. I’ve heard all of those rumors but none of that stuff is true. What actually happened is she had a hit single out and we got the number one show on TV so it’s the only destination for someone to perform in front of that big of an audience during the summer. She’s a huge fan of the show.”

Cannon admits he did facilitate the deal for Carey to appear her newest single for her latest album.

He adds, “They were looking for people and I kinda came up with the idea originally to debut her video on NBC and once that relationship got together, they were like, ‘Do you think she would come perform?’ and I was like, ‘Why not? Let’s figure it out!’”

Mariah Carey’s “Memoirs of An imperfect Angel,” Sean “Diddy” Combs’ “Last Train To Paris” and Lil Wayne’s “Rebirth,” release dates have all been pushed back.

You would think that these highly anticipated albums release dates wouldn’t be delayed.

Mariah Carey’s first single is currently #11 on the Billboard 100. I mean the single is OK but really she needs to just step up her game.
