The album, titled The Beginning, is almost finished and will be released later this year.
Will.i.am said that this record “symbolizes growth, new beginnings and starts, fresh new perspective.”
After it was just announced that the band’s hit I Gotta Feeling has become the best-selling song in digital history with 6 million downloads, we have to admit, the Black Eyed Peas are unstoppable!

The Black Eyed Peas have more proof of the ubiquity of “I Gotta Feeling.”
Their No. 1 hit has become the first song to reach the 6 million mark in digital downloads.
The milestone was announced Friday and confirmed by Nielsen SoundScan. For the group’s leader, will.i.am, the moment is about much more than the song.
“We came out in ’98 and our career, if you would look at it on chart, there’s no dips in it,” he said in a phone interview Thursday. “For our career to still be healthy and vibrant and doing things like 6 million downloads, it’s pretty significant.”
It’s also significant, he said, in a time when illegal downloading is the norm.”That means that they chose to support the group, support the art,” he said. “God knows how many people listened to it online and didn’t buy it, downloaded it for free and didn’t think about it.”
The upbeat song about good vibes was No. 1 for 14 weeks; will.i.am said the reason it was so successful was because it gave people hope in a downward time.
“It’s a positive, feel-good song at the time where there’s question marks and uncertainty. People want to be reminded that it’s going to be all right,” he said.
The song was one of the hits from the group’s multiplatinum “The E.N.D.,” which was released last year. Although it is still on the charts, will.i.am said a new album, “The Beginning,” is almost finished and likely due at the end of the year.
“It symbolizes growth, new beginnings and starts, fresh new perspective,” he said.
Congrats Black Eyed Peas!

With a jump from 22-5, country music act Lady Antebellum has landed in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their hit ‘Need You Now’.
The group recently won Vocal Group of the Year and Single of the Year(for ‘I Run To You’) at the Country Music Awards. Lady Antebellum performed ‘Need You Now’ on the highly rated broadcast, which helped boost their sales. Their digital downloads skyrocketed 162% to 157,000, the highest one-week sum for a song by a country group since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking digital sales in 2003.
Lady Antebellum is also the first country group to reach the Hot 100 top 10 since Dixie Chicks peaked at No. 4 with “Not Ready to Make Nice” in March 2007.

Eminem and Lady Gaga have been added to the performer lineup for the American Music Awards, according to Entertainment Weekly. The 37th annual show, which will air live from Los Angeles on November 22, will also feature performances from Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, the Black Eyed Peas and, in the television debut of the title track from his upcoming album For Your Entertainment, Adam Lambert.
The show will be an “American Idol” reunion of sorts, as alumni Kelly Clarkson, Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood will perform as well.
The awards show will feature a similarly glittering array of nominees determined by data from Nielsen SoundScan radio and retail figures, with Taylor Swift in the lead with six nominations, followed by the late Michael Jackson and Eminem at five apiece. Though Jackson had not released new material for nearly a decade, his nominations are based on the strong sales of his catalog albums following his June 25 death.
Swift’s nominations include Artist of the Year; Favorite Country Album (for Fearless); Favorite Female Pop or Rock Artist; and Favorite Female Country Artist. MJ was also recognized in the Pop or Rock Artist of Year category, Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist and Favorite Soul/R&B Album (for Number Ones). Em’s nominations include Artist of the Year; Favorite Male Pop or Rock Artist; Favorite Male Rap/Hip-Hop Artist; and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album (for Relapse).
Other multiple-category nominees include Lady Gaga, T.I., Kings of Leon, Beyoncé and the Peas, who all have three. For the third year, winners will be determined by online voting.

After only three days of sales, Michael Buble’s new album topped the Billboard 200 chart, while rock legends KISS finished in second place, the highest album-chart position of their career.
Buble’s “Crazy Love” scored sales of 132,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, giving the pop singer his second No. 1 album.
Buble’s last set, 2007′s “Call Me Irresponsible,” debuted with 212,000 at No. 2 before moving to No. 1 the following week. “Crazy” is the artist’s third top 10 album. His second studio set, “It’s Time,” debuted and peaked at No. 7 in 2005.
The release of “Crazy” was pushed up from its original date of October 13 to October 9 — likely to capitalize on Buble’s chat and performance on the “Oprah Winfrey Show” that day.
“Sonic Boom,” the new Walmart-exclusive studio album from KISS, sold 108,000 copies, the band’s second-best weekly sales tally since SoundScan began tracking data in 1991.
KISS’ previous chart high arrived with 1998′s “Psycho-Circus,” which debuted and peaked at No. 3 with sales of 110,000. “Psycho’s” opening frame is also the group’s best SoundScan sales week.
Streisand Tops The Billboard 200 Beating Mariah Carey And Paramore

With all of the attention on Mariah Carey and Paramore’s new albums battling it out for No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, no one suspected that Barbra Streisand would come out of seemingly no where to beat them out of the top spot.
Barbra Streisand’s album Love Is The Anwer tops the Billboard 200 chart this week opening with 180,000 copies sold according to Nielsen Soundscan. This is Streisand’s ninth No. 1 on the chart.
Paramore came in second with their new album Brand New Eyes selling 175,000 copies. This is the highest charting album for Paramore as well as the band’s best sales week.
And coming in third place on the chart is Mariah Carey’s new album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel. Carey sold 168,000 copies. Although the numbers are relatively close, Mariah’s definitely not what she used to be. What happened to the days when Mariah actually sang and had some power in her voice?
The Beatles and Michael Jackson Help The Music Biz

Renewed interest in the Beatles and Michael Jackson slowed the decline of U.S. album sales in the third quarter, although the industry is still on track to fall for the eighth time in nine years.
Sales were off 11.1% compared with the same period in 2008, according to Nielsen SoundScan. After the second quarter, sales were down 14.7% compared with the first half of 2008.
So far album sales are down 13.9% this year. Total album sales fell 14 percent in 2008.
Music retailers are hoping that the continued performance of Jackson and Beatles albums and a strong fourth-quarter release schedule will continue to make up lost ground.
During the quarter, Jackson’s June 25 death fueled sales of about 5 million units, and the September 9 re-release of the Beatles catalog has sold 1.3 million units so far.
So far this year 11 albums have topped the 1 million-unit mark, the same number as in 2008. In 2008, the top seller was Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter III,” at 2.5 million units; this year’s top seller is Jackson’s “Number Ones,” at 1.8 million units.

Singer/Songwriter Colbie Caillat may soon have her first No.1 album with her sophomore release ‘Breakthrough.’ Industry insiders expect her album to sell between 90,000 to 100,000 copies in it’s first week, which would land Caillat at the top of both the Billboard Hot 200 chart and the Top Comprehensive Albums tally.
Her first album ‘Coco’ debuted at No. 5 in 2007 with 51,000. According to Nielsen Soundscan, ‘Coco’ has sold more than 1.96 million copies.
Congratulations, Colbie! You’ve come a long way since you first posted your music on Myspace.
