Bruno Mars Arrested In Vegas!

Singer Bruno Mars was arrested in Las Vegas over the weekend on suspicion of drug possession. Sgt. John Sheahan said Mars, whose real name is Peter Hernandez, was arrested around 2:40 a.m. Sheahan said Hard Rock security confronted Mars in a bathroom and discovered him with narcotics.

So sad. Bruno Mars is one of our favorite new artists, especially with is current hit “Just The Way You Are.” Has fame already gone to his head?

RedOne Signs Label Deal With Universal Music

Universal Music is honored to announce their joint venture with super producer RedOne and his new record label 2101 Records. The international Grammy winning hitmaker, who was recently honored as Billboard Producer of the Year and BMI Songwriter of the Year, is famed for his work with Michael Jackson, Sean Kingston, Enrique Iglesias, Akon and Lady Gaga. The venture is with Universal Music International and each artist signing to 2101/Universal will be released by a label within the UMG Group. RedOne will A&R, executive produce and produce all artists signed to 2101 Records.

Janet Jackson Wants To Work With Lady Gaga

Everyone wants to work with Gaga now that she’s topped every chart around the globe. The latest celebrity to speak up is Janet Jackson.

“What I love about GaGa is her story, where she came from. Before she made it, before anyone knew who she was, I knew who she was and, to see her finally make it, I was so happy. If we were to work together that would be cool.”

So Janet knew Gaga before she was Gaga…that’s a story I’d like to hear. How did she know who she was?

This isn’t the first time Janet’s gotten press for speaking out about Gaga. Remember when she said “She [Gaga] works so hard and I told her I think she needs to slow down just a little bit, take some time out for herself.” Looks like Janet wouldn’t mind adding to Gaga’s work load now that she’s trying to keep herself in the spotlight.

Usher’s ‘Versus’ in Stores August 24th

Usher will release Versus, a nine-song follow-up to Raymond V. Raymond on August 24th.

Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase Raymond V. Raymond (The Deluxe Edition) which will contain all 22 songs from Raymond V. Raymond and Versus. The new set will include his current No. 1 hit “There Goes My Baby” the pop smash “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” featuring Pitbull , and Usher’s explosive collaboration with Jay-Z “Hot Tottie.”

Versus is an extension of Usher’s sixth studio album Raymond V. Raymond. RVR debuted at No. 1 on Pop and R&B albums charts and spawned five hit singles including “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home),” “Lil Freak” featuring Nicki Minaj, “There Goes My Baby” and “OMG” featuring will.i.am.

Susan Boyle is truly the unlikeliest sensation in the history of music, but she has taken the world by storm since she emerged as a YouTube star following her appearance on Britain’s Got Talent.

Boyle is No. 1 once again on the Billboard charts and is expected to sell another 560,000 copies this week according to HitsDoubleDaily, which has her sales total surpassing 3 million copies in the U.S. alone! That’s not so great news for Mary J. Blige who has to settle for the No. 2 spot, selling 340,000 copies.

Fox is close to reaching a deal with 19 Entertainment and FremantleMedia to keep American Idol on the air through 2014 with or without Simon Cowell. Currently, the network has secured Idol through 2011, but rumors have been swirling that Simon Cowell plans to leave the show after the upcoming season in a move to bring his hit UK show X-Factor to the States.

Jesse McCartney Back In The Studio For New Album

Jesse McCartney sat down with MTV to discuss his upcoming album. McCartney is heading back into the studio and says that he hopes to work with Ludacris again on the new album.

McCartney says –

“Yeah, I have some ideas in mind [in terms of collaborations], but those things always come together last-minute. We’re working on a few things,” he told MTV News. “I know that I might work with Ludacris again. That’s maybe a possibility, and he’s great — he’s one of my favorite rappers … and he’s amazing to work with.”

“It’s gonna be kind of a continuation of Departure, but maybe a little more R&B slightly. You’ll get the chance to hear what’s going on in my head right now and a little … more personal.”

“It’s a little bit more raw,” he explained. “But still rhythmic and upbeat. It’s still soulful. I’m still kind of writing it all out. I don’t want to give too much away.”

Mariah To Release 2 Remix Albums Next Year

Mariah is set to release not one, but two remix albums of Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel.

According to MariahDailyJournal –

“Mariah will be releasing two separate Remix albums for Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel early next year.

In addition to the main Remix album which will comprise of R&B/Hip-Hop/Pop remixes, the other will be a Dance album which will all be Jump Smokers remixes of tracks from Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel.

Now don’t go crazy on us, Mariah. Couldn’t you just release a 2-disc set? Do you really need to release two albums?
