[audio] Must Listen! Avril Lavigne – Wish You Were Here

Avril

I’m just going to throw it out there that I really like Avril Lavigne’s new album Goodbye Lullaby. If you were a fan of Avril’s in the past, you should give this album a good listen. She’s been out of the limelight for a bit, she’s had her personal ups and downs, the press has exploited her privacy and she’s found a way to turn it all into one great album. She’s grown up a lot from her ‘Sk8ter Boi’ days and her music has matured as well. Avril’s always been a great songwriter and continues to craft honest lyrics and catchy, memorable melodies that are easy to pick up on and sing along. This album is definitely worth a listen.

Kelly Clarkson has been hard at work on her new album and, yesterday, she posted new details on her official facebook page. The news has us eagerly anticipating the release of her new album! The music industry needs some new Kelly Clarkson stat!

Clarkson posted:

“I record my last song on the 25th of this month and then we will be releasing the album! This album was influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Radiohead and there’s a little bit of a Country vibe/influence on a couple of songs.

Oh and also one of my favorites on the new album is highly influenced by Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder. Eric Hutchinson wrote it ….the album is gonna be a great pop record! I can’t wait for y’all to hear it!”

New Details On Lady Antebellum’s Upcoming Album

January 14, 2011 by imusicdaily

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley revealed new details on the trios upcoming album:

“We all remember high school dances, and how innocent those little moments were,” he says. “I think there’s gonna be a lot of nostalgic songs on the record. Maybe that’s just because we’re all getting a little older. Now we’re so busy and there’s a little part of us that yearns for a time when it was a little simpler. I don’t know what fueled that.”

“If we were to use the success of ‘Need You Now’ as the barometer for every other song, then we’ll probably be highly disappointed. That song will probably undoubtedly be the biggest song of our career. We can hopefully have success for 20 years, but we may not ever have the success of that one particular song again. But we might. You never know. But we’re gonna try not to chase it, is what I’m sayin’. If we try to chase that too much, we’ll start to deviate from what made the sound of the group.”

Following the success of ‘Need You Now’, their approach on the new album is more realistic than trying to top one of the biggest hits in country music.
