17 year old pop star-in-the-making Hailey Hoff just completed production on her debut effort and we’re bringing you an exclusive preview of her song Right Back!

Hailey has been perfecting her craft since she was six years old. It was then that she took her first vocal lesson and the rest, as they say, is history. Hailey’s music is upbeat and fun, fitting her in with the likes of Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Victoria Justice and Taylor Swift.

Billboard Launches New Uncharted Music Chart

Launched today on Billboard.com, Uncharted gives a vast market of emerging talent the opportunity to be ranked and discovered. Billboard’s Uncharted is part of its new Dreamseekers initiative that will include not only the Uncharted ranking but also Billboard Pro, a comprehensive tool to help artists manage and grow their online fan base.

Occupying the No. 1 slot on the inaugural Uncharted ranking is hip-hop solo artist Traphik, a Long Beach, California-based Thai-American rapper known for his comedic YouTube videos and rhymes. Other artists in the top five include DJ BL3ND, Colette Carr, Javier Jofre and the Deadlies.

With a universe of millions of artists creating and sharing their music on digital platforms to amass an audience, many are serious about a career but have not arrived on the mainstream music scene. They may not have a retail story or a radio story, but they have leveraged the Internet’s powerful role in music consumption and have a noteworthy following. Uncharted is an artist discovery tool for the music industry’s ecosystem of recording labels, talent management, concert promoters, music publishers, radio, film, television and advertising executives as well as passionate music fans.

“Uncharted is about launching careers. We want to serve as a conduit for artists to step onto a broader stage, ultimately topping one of the major Billboard charts,” said Billboard Editorial Director Bill Werde. “Record labels, publishers and other music companies are always looking for ways to make smarter bets on emerging talent, and we think the Uncharted ranking will be a significant tool for those who would invest in music.” Read more

Rihanna Tops The Social 50 chart

Rihanna holds at No. 1 for a third non-consecutive week on the Social 50 chart, which ranks the most active artists on the world’s leading social networking sites — MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and iLike.

The ranking uses a formula blending weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays. The final ranking also includes a measurement that identifies the ratio of page views to fans.

Justin Bieber bumps up 3-2, his third week in the runner-up slot in the five weeks that the chart has been in existence.

Lady Gaga rebounds 6-3 to reach a new peak, the Black Eyed Peas and Eminem stand still, holding at number 4 and 5, respectively. Akon ascends 7-6.

Leave it to a racy video to turn on the social masses. Enrique Iglesias’ not-safe-for-work clip for “Tonight I’m F*****’ You” premiered last week online and set the viral world on fire. The singer vaults from No. 21 to No. 7 with the largest gain of Facebook fans (up 125%) on the chart following the debut of “Tonight’s” sexually charged video on December 23.

Rounding out the top 10 are Michael Jackson, who moves up a slot to No. 8, Linkin Park, which climbs 10-9, and Katy Perry, who drops 8-10.

Artist To Watch: Palomino Blitz

You’ve got to check out the band, Palomino Blitz!

Their music is creative and fun and the lyrics tell unusual tales that stick in your mind long after the song ends. They’re from Rome, Italy of all places, but lead singer, Mia Julia is half-American, that’s why you won’t detect a hint of an accent. In fact, her voice sounds much like Gwen Stefani in some songs and like Shirley Manson in others.

They’ve just produced their first album, “Nothing Wrong” coming soon to iTunes. In the meantime ,you can hear the whole album on their myspace: www.myspace.com/palominoblitz. Highlights are “I Can’t Recall” “Your Playground” “Nothing Wrong” and “Come and Go.”
