Jay-Z will earn his fourth Hot 100 No. 1, but his first as a lead or co-billed performer, as his collaboration with Alicia Keys, “Empire State of Mind,” will top the chart to be released today.
The legendary rapper’s prior chart-topping entries came as a featured vocalist on Mariah Carey’s “Heartbreaker” (1999), his now-wife’s “Crazy In Love” (2003) and Rihanna’s “Umbrella” (2007). “Empire” is also Keys’ fourth overall No. 1, as she previously scaled the list with her debut single “Fallin’” (2001), her duet with Usher, “My Boo,” (2004) and “No One” (2007).
Miley Cyrus The Next Justin Timberlake?

Is Miley the new Justin? Critically-acclaimed producer Timbaland sure thinks so!
Although Timberland has worked with some of the most talented musicians in the industry today — including Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, Missy, Keri Hilson, and Nelly Furtado — the Virginia native was quite taken with television’s Hannah Montana, who he collaborated with for his new album, Shock Value II.
He says: “Man, she’s gonna be like Justin [Timberlake]. She comes from that same musical background, where she’s just got it. Her voice is just there. The best way to put it is she’s special. When I worked with her, I was very impressed. I was like, ‘Whoa.’”
I think Timberland needs to just take a few breaths and get to a hospital. He’s lost it.

Mariah Carey’s newest song ’100%’, which was written for her film Precious, is a fresh reminder of everything we used to love about Mariah Carey when she was on top of the world.
Her latest efforts have been far from the success she once had, but ’100%’ is sure to change her streak of mediocre songs.

Jordin Sparks And Leona Lewis Duet In The Works?

Jordin Sparks says she’d like to record a duet with Leona Lewis soon. These two newly inducted divas would be the younger version of Mariah and Whitney when they recorded ‘When You Believe’ for the Prince Of Egypt soundtrack.
Jordin says:
“I’ve met her [Leona Lewis] a few times, she’s so sweet. For the past year I’ve been wanting to do something with her, so hopefully we’ll be able to make that happen soon. I was thinking about a female duet like the Whitney and Mariah thing, but definitely in our own way and our type of music. I would just love to do something like that. I don’t know if it’s going to happen now or maybe in a couple of years. I know she’s just finished up her second album which I’m really excited to go grab, so we’ll see what happens.”

With all of the attention on Mariah Carey and Paramore’s new albums battling it out for No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, no one suspected that Barbra Streisand would come out of seemingly no where to beat them out of the top spot.
Barbra Streisand’s album Love Is The Anwer tops the Billboard 200 chart this week opening with 180,000 copies sold according to Nielsen Soundscan. This is Streisand’s ninth No. 1 on the chart.
Paramore came in second with their new album Brand New Eyes selling 175,000 copies. This is the highest charting album for Paramore as well as the band’s best sales week.
And coming in third place on the chart is Mariah Carey’s new album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel. Carey sold 168,000 copies. Although the numbers are relatively close, Mariah’s definitely not what she used to be. What happened to the days when Mariah actually sang and had some power in her voice?
