50 Cent Says He Won’t Promote New Music

Judging by a few posts on his Twitter, it seems that 50 Cent is not feeling optimistic. “I don’t think I’m gonna live much longer,” he wrote during a series of tweets. Earlier today, he clarified the remark: “To be conscious that life is short is not suicidal,” he wrote. “I’m good if I die tonight.”

The rapper also claimed that he has “lost all the faith in the team I’m on. I have nothing left to say. I will not be promoting my music.” The comment comes after months of discord between the artist and Interscope Records, who are expecting the delivery of his next album. Last month, 50 Cent released the self-produced mixtape The Big 10, marking the 10-year anniversary of 50 Cent Is the Future.

50 Cent has been keeping busy by concentrating on promoting Street King, his new energy drink, proceeds of which to go to fight world hunger. At an event last month for the launch of his new line of headphones, 50 Cent talked about signing Jersey Shore’s Pauly D to G-Note Records.

LMFAO and Nicki Minaj Join “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”

Nicki Minaj, Florence + the Machine and LMFAO will be joining Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber for the 40th annual “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”
 televised extravaganza.

The show will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest, with help from Fergie in Los Angeles and Jenny McCarthy in New York and will air live from 8 p.m. until after midnight on December 31. The Los Angeles portion of the show has added Taio Cruz, Minaj, Florence, Gym Class Heroes, Blink-182, OneRepublic, the Band Perry, will.i.am. and Christina Perri. Gaga, Bieber, Pitbull and Hot Chelle Rae will be on hand for the New York portion of the show.

Looks like Miley Cyrus is crossing over to the dark side. While on tour, Cyrus claimed Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ inspired her to do music. Really? You mean Billy Ray’s ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ didn’t?

First MTV O Music Award for Most Innovative Music Video Decided today! Livestream panel debate at 4pm.

Today marks the official kick off of the week long MTV O Music Awards celebration, www.omusicawards.com. Today at 4pm, MTV will be live streaming a panel with Jermaine Dupri, legendary music video director Wayne Isham, and music journalists Caryn Ganz (Yahoo Music) and Brenna Ehrlich (Mashable) where they will debate the nominees for the most innovative music video. At the end of the live stream, the winner will be announced. Hosted by James Montgomery with appearances by Robyn, Tim Nordwind of OK Go, Andy Grammer, Perry Farrell, My Chemical Romance, Ke$ha, and more.
