Lil Wayne Has Hometown Farewell Show Before Heading To Jail

Muti-platinum recording artist, Lil Wayne, returned to his hometown of New Orleans to perform at what he called, his “farewell” tour.
“I’m nothing without you,” he told the screaming crowd of thousands of fans at the New Orleans Arena after opening the concert with “A Milli,” which last year earned him a Grammy for best rap solo.
His real name, Dwayne Carter, pleaded guilty in October to a weapons possession charge and will be sentenced Feb. 9. His plea deal calls for a year in jail. Dwayne will only be 28 years old after he serves his time, assuming he isn’t released early.
The charge stemmed from a 2007 traffic stop of his tour bus in New York when authorities said they smelled marijuana, and as they approached, Lil Wayne tossed aside a bag with a loaded .40-caliber handgun.
Lil Wayne’s next album, “Rebirth,” is due for release Feb. 1. After New Orleans, he is scheduled to play a couple of dates in Texas and another show in southern Louisiana.

Rapper Bow Wow is not happy with his management team…..so what’s he gonna do? He took his frustration to his Twitter page to let everyone know that he is going to fire everybody!
Bow Wow signed a new contract with the powerhouse behind Lil Wayne, Cash Money Records, over the summer, but he’s not happy with his employees’ work and is now planning to manage himself.
In a post on his Twitter.com blog last week, he wrote, “In one of those ‘please don’t f–k with me moods’ today. I’m firing all managers! I’m managing myself. Who knows me better than me? I know this game very well…”
Lil Wayne Concert Goes On Despite Drug Bust

A Lil Wayne concert in Texas, postponed after authorities said they found marijuana on one of his tour buses Friday was rescheduled for Saturday night.
The rapper canceled the concert after two of his buses were stopped in Falfurrias, about 80 miles southwest of Corpus Christi.
Border Patrol Supervisory Agent Joe G. Trevino said Saturday Lil Wayne and 11 people with him were briefly detained, and the case was referred to the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office.
Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, will be tried in March on felony drug possession and weapons charges in Yuma County, Ariz.
Shakira Performs “Give It Up To Me” On “ The Late Show”

On Tuesday, Latin singing star Shakira brought her lethal hips to the Late Show for a live studio performance of “Give It Up To Me” (Ft. Lil Wayne), the second single from her new album She Wolf on "The Late Show With David Letterman."

Lil Wayne’s Rebirth Due Out December 15

After months of delays and rescheduled street dates, Lil Wayne’s new album, Rebirth, finally has an official street date. According to Billboard.com, the disc long rumored to be Wayne’s “rock” album will drop on December 15.
The album will come on the heels of his just-released No Ceilings mixtape. And while there has been some confusion about just how much actual rocking Wayne will do on it— he does appear on the new Weezer album — the rapper recently told Billboard that he does indeed bang his head on Rebirth.
“Yes, the album is still rock,” he said. “I play guitar on 80 percent of the songs, and there’s a lot of rock influences and rock beats. I also have Travis Barker on the album. But I don’t want people to think I’m trying to do something I can’t do. Don’t think you’re going to put on the album and hear me screaming and singing.
“When I said I was doing a rock album, it was about doing a freedom thing,” he continued. “This album isn’t hip-hop. When I do my Carter albums, I know I’ve got to rap, I know I’ve got to spit. I know the words I’ve got to say and the subjects I’ve got to talk about. I also know the things I shouldn’t say, the things I shouldn’t talk about. There’s none of those limits on this album. I say what I want, how I want. That’s what this album is: a freedom album.”
Wayne has suggested that he might release Rebirth and the Young Money crew album as a double disc. Because a few of the songs from Wayne’s album have leaked online during the past few months, he said he went back to the lab to cook up some new songs to throw off fans who thought they knew what he was up to.
“I had to add new cuts, because a lot of things leaked, making people think they had an idea of what I was doing with Rebirth and what it would sound like,” he said. “And I hated that, because I never want anybody to think they know what I’m doing until I present it. So what I did was make it totally different. I flipped it.”
Seriously though Lil Wayne…..lets just get this album out already!
Poor Ticket Sales For Chris Brown Fan Appreciation Tour

To the surprise of absolutely no one, tickets for Chris Brown’s upcoming Fan Appreciation Tour aren’t selling very well.
Will Breezy be able to put his attack on Rihanna behind him and save his career or will his lady-beating meltdown haunt him “Forever?”
The disgraced former heartthrob is attempting a comeback with his Fan Appreciation Tour, which kicks off at the House of Blues in Houston next week, but Chris still struggles to fill the small venues he’s set to perform in, industry snitches spill to The NY Daily News. Chris’ tepid ticket sales in a direct result of his vicious attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna last February, industry execs tell the paper’s “Gatecrasher Column.”
“This is definitely not the outcome [Chris' label] Jive Records hoped for. Chris lost a lot of fans after he assaulted Rihanna. And after that whole scandal, he’s not exactly kid-friendly. What parent would buy their children tickets to his concert?”
In related news, Chris’ third album Graffiti has been pushed up a week to Dec. 8.
I wonder if he’s going to tweet on his Twitter about all of this?!

Chris Brown To Release New CD On Dec. 15

Chris Brown has announced the release of his first CD since his February altercation with then-girlfriend Rihanna.
“Graffiti,” the singer’s third album, will be released on Dec. 15, he said via Twitter.
The CD’s first single, “I Can Transform Ya,” features Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz.
The 20-year-old will also kick off his “Fan Appreciation” tour in Houston on Nov. 14.
Brown was sentenced in August to five years’ probation, six months of community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling after he pleaded guilty to felony assault in the attack on Rihanna. He’s due to perform Tuesday in New Jersey at his first concert since the attack.
