A few days ago Nicki Minaj was seen leaving Guys and Dolls LA nightclub with P. Diddy. Was this just two business associates hanging out? Diddy does happen to be her new business manager. Or could it be a wild romance? They are clearly holding hands. Either way, Nicki needs to cheer up. Your teen fans, or Teenage Mutant Ninja Barbies, as you call them love you, Nicki. After all, you are pretty much the only female rapper on the radio these days.

Seems like something’s going around. First Miley and now Hayley?!

Paramore had to cancel their show in Los Angeles last night (October 1) at the Hollywood Palladium. No official reason was given, but lead singer Hayley Williams told the crowd at their concert in Pomona, CA that she had gotten sick a week before their tour started. By the end of that show, Hayley was unable to take the stage for the band’s encore performance, so the audience filled in and sang Paramore’s hit ‘Misery Business’.

Hayley took to her Twitter account the following day announcing “I need my voice back.” She also said “Thanks to all our amazing fans in Pomona for singing for me last night.”

Emily Wells is a 26 year old LA based musician who creates a sound as difficult to describe as it is unique. She infuses hip-hop with classical music and indie experimental rock, and grabs you with her haunting singing style. Emily puts on a truly mesmerizing live show, building each song live on stage by looping her different sounds. She’ll use a violin, a child’s xylophone, a keyboard, and that’s just getting started. Emily is known for her “symphonies,” and she will knock you down with her smooth and evocatively sensual rendition of the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Juicy.” Listen to both her and Biggie’s version below and be sure to check out her myspace page at www.myspace.com/emilywells.

Leona Lewis

Leona Lewis has had a change of heart when it comes to life in Los Angeles. Last year, Simon Cowell gave Leona a $5 million mansion in Beverly Hills, but Leona said she felt “incredibly lonely” in LA and couldn’t spend a lot of time there.

Now she’s just bought a house in the Hollywood Hills with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a swimming pool and a gym. Leona says “When I first got to LA I didn’t know what to make of it – but after a while I found myself enjoying it. It’s just a very outdoors kind of life.”

“But home is where the heart is and at the moment my heart is in the UK.” Leona insists that Hackney is still her home.

Glad to hear Leona’s happy in LA!

Hollywood Kill is a two person band consisting of Greg Tamura and Karen Gutierrez, a couple of Irish, Nicaraguan and Japanese heritage who’ve known each other since High School. They most recently caught the eyes and ears of their eclectic crowd performing at Les Deux in LA, beginning their dark and gritty, Electro psychobilly music set with firing sparklers as they moved on to perform atop the separating ledge of the outdoor area, instantly establishing an intimate connection with “Leave Your Troubles Behind.”

The lyrics are perfect nightlife ambiance:
“We’re standing in line, to leave our troubles behind.”
The night is calling…
I got no curfew kiss my lips…
I’m looking for answers, just wanna escape
Let’s get higher, come my way

Their song “Leave your Troubles Behind” is now available on their newest album The Other Side of Midnight

Hollywood Kill has also performed at venues such as Kress, Viper Room, The Conga Room, The Roxy and Boardners.

You can catch Hollywood Kill tonight in LA at the Dragonfly!
