Patti LaBelle Is Afraid Idol’s Judges Comments Could Lead To Contestant Suicide

Patti LaBelle is so concerned about being the American Idol judges being to harsh on contestants. She is afraid that some of the judges negative comments could lead to a contestant killing themselves.
LaBelle has been approached to appear on the hit show but she declined the invitation and now she feels that the panelists are “not qualified” to give contestants proper feedback.
She tells the Associated Press, “Some of the judges, I don’t think they’re qualified to even judge. The comments that were made, they could make you like, wanna kill yourself.”
She believes that a more positive-inspirational approach would benefit the contestants more.
She continue to say, “If you believe in yourself, just go for it. What do you have to lose? And when people tell you ‘You can’t', you have to say, ‘I can’.”
Do you think Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres are too harsh this season? Do you agree with what Patti said?

The State Of The Music Industry: Kara DioGuardi Speaks Out
January 6, 2010 by imusicdaily

American Idol’s Kara DioGuardi is speaking out on the state of the music industry and it’s “singles mentality”.
DioGuardi said in a recent interview with Billboard:
“The only risks record labels will take are very calculated — and that’s going to be a problem for music in the long run if they don’t take risks. What’s going to happen is that you’re going to have every song sound like a single. And when you really think back to those records you love, the more obscure songs, the songs maybe where the melody wasn’t as mainstream — those are the ones that you fall in love with. It’s very dangerous, to me, to have that [singles] mentality. You want to have the balance.”
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, the one hit wonders have taken over mainstream radio this past year and something’s got to change.

Kara DioGuardi recently told Billboard.com that she and new Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres are planning to spend some quality time together in December to get to know each other before the new season of Idol begins.
Kara says of Ellen:
“She’s really excited…She can’t believe this is happening…we’re going to meet up in December and get to know each other better. I think she’s going to be a great addition. I can’t even imagine sitting next to her.”

Carrie Underwood Says “Every Woman” Has Met A Cowboy Casanova

Three albums into her career, Carrie Underwood is already a country-music vet, paving the way for ladies like Taylor Swift to find success outside of Nashville. On her latest album, Play On, the “American Idol” alum is proving her songwriting muscle, especially on the sassy first single “Cowboy Casanova.”
“I think to every woman, this song would be telling a story about someone they know or met or has tried to pick them up in a bar,” she said in an interview with CMT. “There’s definitely guys in my past, even if it was a friend’s boyfriend or something.”
Underwood, who has released her fair share of sassy country/pop hits, insists that her song is in no way bashing the title dude. “We’re not trashing this guy; we’re just warning these other girls about him. Who knows, maybe now people can listen to this song and better identify these men,” she said, jokingly adding, “I’m helping women around the world!”
Although Underwood helped write seven of the 13 songs on the album, working with writers like “Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi and Mike Elizondo (Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg), Underwood would rather a song on her album be good than written by her.
“It’s really not that important to me. I love to write, but the best songs win — end of story — whether they’re mine or not,” she said. “There were a couple where I was like, ‘No way’ — and they were my own! You’d think I’d be pushing, but I’m not. There are some awesome songwriters out there.”

Kris Allen’s debut single ‘Live Like We’re Dying’ has been released and it’s sure to be a hit among Allen’s female fan base. As we previously reported, the song was originally recorded by Irish pop-rock band The Script.
Allen’s voice sounds great on the track, which is a little more rock and roll than many expected from him. It’s great to hear this side of him, especially after he was forced to release ‘No Boundaries’ co-written by Kara DioGuardi after winning Idol.
Allen’s album will be released November 17th.

Idol Fans Have Mixed Feelings For Ellen As 4th Judge
September 10, 2009 by imusicdaily

The news broke yesterday that Ellen DeGeneres will be the 4th judge on the upcoming season of American Idol, but, with all of the excitement in the media, fans are having mixed feelings about Ellen joining the panel.
“I think [the powers that be] had their sights set on hiring an A-lister rather than say, a pop singer who has seen better days [which Abdul arguably was]…Ellen does have a fan base all her own, and the curiosity factor will bring in viewers. Plus, Ellen will pimp the hell out of the show (she kinda already does) on her talk show. But man, she really was awkward and unfunny when she guest-judged on ['So You Think You Can Dance'] over the summer, so I hope that she brushes up on her skills between now and November…I just don’t think she’ll have that much to say and will be nice all the time, maybe crack a few jokes, but it will be empty…In season five, Taylor Hicks fans said they wouldn’t watch her show because [DeGeneres] was a Daughtry fan, so I think she might pull her punches a lot to avoid pissing off fans of her show.”" – MJ Santilli MJsBigBlog.com
“Ellen DeGeneres is the new fourth judge! Hallelujah!…Thank you Paula Abdul! ‘American Idol’ 9 will be the best season ever!” – Rickey Rickey.org
“Might as well put in Dakota Fanning, the cast of iCarly, my auntie Joy, and my neighbor’s dog on the panel too. If Ellen, with NO MUSICAL BACKGROUND can be a judge, then all the people I’ve listed can too.” – Talea Gokey (Rickey.org follower)
“I think this is great! What advice did Paula ever really give anyway? Randy and Simon take care of that … Ellen loves music, she’s a fan of the show … she’ll be funny and intelligent and most important, I won’t have to fast-forward anymore !!!” – Idolchatter (Rickey.org follower)
So what do you guys think? Is Ellen a great addition to the show?
