Adele on Top of Rolling Stone’s Album and Single List

Rolling Stone magazine named Adele’s album “21″ and single “Rolling In The Deep” the best of 2011.
Adele recently received six Grammy nominations and was chosen by Rolling Stone editors for her multi-platinum selling sophomore album, which was officially the U.K’s best selling album of the 21st century and 2011′s best-selling album in the United States.
” ’21′ was this year’s most stunning pop success, transmuting the young Brit’s personal sorrow — the collapse of an 18-month relationship — into a 13-million-selling smash that leapt across borders and oceans and united everyone from teeny-boppers to baby boomers to hip-hop-heads,” said Rolling Stone editors.
Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Watch The Throne,” came second on the album list, followed by Paul Simon’s “So Beautiful or So What” at No. 3, Fleet Foxes “Helplessness Blues” at No. 4 and Radiohead’s eighth studio album “The King of Limbs” rounding out the top five.
Adele’s song “Rolling In The Deep,” was named the best single of 2011 by the magazine, as editors described it as the “breakup scorcher to beat all breakup scorchers.”
Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Ni**as in Paris” clocked in at No. 2, while Britney Spears’ “‘Til The World Ends” made No. 3 on the list, Foo Fighters’ “These Days” at No. 4 and Paul Simon’s “Rewrite” at No. 5.
The full list will be available on newsstands and online on December 9.

In a 20/20 interview with Katie Couric to air of Friday night, Beyonce addresses the rumors about what she has been craving during her pregnancy.
Beyonce told Couric that she hasn’t had those typical late-night urges during her pregnancy.
“Not really anything crazy,” Beyonce said. “I’ve read that I like ketchup on everything,” she added, adding that the rumor is not true. When Couric tried to confirm other Internet rumors about what the singer is supposedly making husband Jay-Z rush out for at 2 in the morning, Beyonce said the wildest one is also not true.
“I also read that you like ice cream with hot chili sauce,” Couric said. “Yeah, that’s very strange,” responded Beyonce. “Is that true?” Couric asked. “No it is not. I was on a plane and the flight attendant came and was like, ‘I have your hot sauce and pickles and bananas.’ I was like, ‘That is absolutely disgusting, what are you doing?’ He’s like, ‘I read it on the Internet.’ ”
When Couric asked the question everyone wants to know, whether she the baby is a boy or a girl, Beyonce smiled and put her finger up to her mouth and gave a coy, “hmmm.”

Kanye West, Jay-Z Hold Onto Billboard Throne

After an impressive debut week on the Billboard 200 chart, Kanye West and Jay-Z’s collaborative effort Watch the Throne, will once again sit at the top. Adding to the 436,000 copies they sold last week, the hip-hop dynamos moved another 177, 000 this week, bringing their current total to 613, 000, according to Nielsen SoundScan figures.
While the Throne won’t get bragging rights to 2011′s biggest first-week seller on the Billboard charts (that honor still belongs to Lady Gaga), they successfully beat Coldplay’s Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends record for one-week sales on iTunes. And needless to say, they’ve claimed the #1 spot on iTunes once again.
Though the second week of Watch the Throne saw a 59 percent drop in sales, it was enough to hold off chart newcomers. None of the week’s debuts saw six-digit sales, and only two will crack the top 10: Life at Best from country’s Eli Young Band at #6 (35,000) and the latest “Twilight” soundtrack favorite Blue October, Any Man in America at #8 (27,000). Other notable newcomers include rockers Breaking Benjamin’s Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin at #22 (14,000) and actor Jeff Bridges’ self-titled record, which places at #25 (13,000).
The rest of this week’s top 10: Adele’s 21, (#2, 80,000), Now That’s What I Call Music 39 (#3, 63,000), Luke Bryan’s Tailgates & Tanlines (#4, 53,000), Jason Aldean’s My Kinda Party (#5, 37,000), Eric Church’s Chief (#7, 31,000), Beyoncé’s 4 (#9, 25,283) and Kidz Bop 20 (#10, 24,000).
As we inch closer to Sunday’s VMAs, fans are continuing to purchase records from this year’s nominees and performers, including Lady Gaga’s record-breaking Born This Way (#12), which saw a 9 percent increase with this week’s sales of 20,000, bringing it’s grand total to 1.7 milllion, and Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream (#15), up 7 percent after moving 17,000 more copies, which brings her album to 1.7 million as well.

Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele Tony Awards 2010 Performance (VIDEO)

Glee stars Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele returned to their Broadway roots Sunday night by taking the stage for a showstopping performance at this weekend’s 64st Annual Tony Awards in New York City, honoring the world’s best in theater. Some might say they stole the show!
The actress, who plays Rachel Berry in Glee, and McKinley High’s Will Schuester treated the star-studded audience, which included Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Will Smith, and Scarlett Johansson, to a rendition of the song “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” first featured in the classic musical Funny Girl. I think Barbara Streisand would be proud.

Lady Sovereign Admits She’s Gay

British rapper Lady Sovereign is no longer keeping a big secret, she’s revealed to the world she’s a lesbian. Apparently she wanted to “come out” quite some time ago, but her “people” convinced her not to.
Sovereign has been dodging gay rumors for awhile now, and she fueled reports recently by admitting she enjoyed same-sex trysts during the British reality TV show “Celebrity Big Brother.”
Even though she was advised to be secretive about her sexual preference, she’s ready to come clean, and admit she’s a lesbian.
She tells gay magazine Diva, “Magazines would always ask about it (sexuality) but (they) would get stopped by my publicists. It was my choice, too, because I was a bit worried about it – but now I don’t really give a s**t.
“You can’t hide away forever. It’s just stupid and now I’ve come out I feel a lot more comfortable with myself. But it was a bit scary back then, because some people do have horrible opinions.”
I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t find this all to be a huge shock.
EMINEM and JAY-Z to Headline New York’s Yankee Stadium and Detroit’s Comerica Park

Two superstars, two stadiums, two concerts, two unforgettable events. In a rare co-headlining concert pairing, JAY-Z, who has scored more #1 albums than any solo artist in history, and EMINEM, the biggest selling artist of the 2000s, will share a stage with each headlining in his own hometown — EMINEM at Detroit’s Comerica Park and JAY-Z at New York’s Yankee Stadium. The Detroit show is set for Thursday, September 2 and the New York performance is scheduled for Monday, September 13. Both shows will be produced by Live Nation. JAY-Z and EMINEM made an appearance together earlier tonight at Comerica Park, where the Tigers hosted the Yankees, to announce the shows.
“This is a once in a lifetime set of shows and I know we’re both really going to bring it to our home towns,” said EMINEM. “The fans are going to love this–and so am I. It’s gonna be historic.” Full EMINEM concerts have been few in recent years. His performance last October at the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans was his first full concert since summer 2005. His newest album, Recovery (Aftermath/Interscope), will be released June 22.
Said JAY-Z: “These shows are like a dream come true. I’ve always hoped that hip-hop could play any stadium like other genres of music. How perfect is it that EMINEM and I get to play our hometowns and show how far the live rap experience has come? Fun and historic, a great combination all around the board.” JAY-Z is currently touring stadiums, arenas and festivals around the world in support of his latest #1 album, 2009′s Blueprint 3 (Roc Nation).
Alicia Keys On American Idol

Alicia Keys was the artist who helped guide the contestants through their performances on this last week’s American Idol. “Big lights will inspire you…” she sang appropriately during her solo rendition of “Empire State of Mind Pt.II” on Thursday. Alicia’s beautiful silhouette glided onto the stage singing “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready)” after Ryan Seacrest announced “She’s the co-founder of Keep a Child Alive.” Luckily, Lil Kim was not around to crash this one.
