The Jackson 5: J5 Live @ The Forum is a new 2-CD set released June 22 that uncovers an amazing chapter from the phenomenal career of Michael Jackson and his brothers in the J5: their extraordinary performances from the Los Angeles Forum, recorded in June 1970 and August 1972–the first at the start of their rapid ascent to stardom, the second when they became established icons. These brilliant shows have not been released in any form until now, the 40th anniversary of the 1970 show.
J5 Live @ The Forum features earth-shaking live performances of the group’s best-known hits – “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” “The Love You Save,” “I’ll Be There,” “Never Can Say Goodbye” and more. Single B-sides “I Found That Girl” and “I’m So Happy” and such surprises as album cuts “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “Zip A Dee Do Dah,” plus songs not released by the J5, including covers of James Brown’s “There Was a Time” and the Isley Brothers’ “It’s Your Thing,” are part of the shows. NBC’s latest talent competition The Sing-Off has become my newest guilty pleasure. The show is like a battle of bands, but with a cappella groups. It’s amazing how the groups can imitate all of the instruments in a song with just their voices.

The Jonas Brothers paid tribute to the King Of Pop Michael Jackson at the MTV Europe Music Awards on Thursday. The pop trio revealed that ’60s-’70s sibling band The Jackson 5 were their first major musical influences just before they introduced a tribute piece to the late “Thriller” hitmaker, during which Jackson fans performed hits like “ABC,” “Bad,” and “Man in The Mirror” in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
According to The Brothers Jonas, listening to the Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There” as kids inspired them to develop their own band of brothers.
“This year we saw the loss of the greatest pop musician the world has ever seen. We and MTV wanted to pay tribute to the true king of pop, Michael Jackson. His unrivalled talent has shaped the musical landscape, influencing artists old and young,” Nick Jonas told the live audience.
“The first time we heard Michael’s voice was when our dad played the Jackson 5’s I’ll Be There,” Joe Jonas chimed in. “We were amazed by the one-of-a-kind talent. The way that he and his brothers came together to entertain the world has been an obvious influence on us. Michael Jackson influenced every listener and every future performer with a talent the world had never seen before. As a writer and a performer he was the best.”

Michael Jackson “I Look Like A Lizard”

Michael Jackson shared some private information with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. Michael Jackson explained why he covered his face in public, and hinted about his motives for undergoing extensive plastic surgery.
The late star said, “I look like a lizard, I look like, it’s horrible. I don’t like it, I never like it. That’s why I wish I could never be photographed or seen and I push myself to go to the things that we go to. I just don’t want to look old. I hate to see people grow old, Shmuley.”
Boteach, who taped the interviews between 1999 and 2001, claims he confronted Jackson about his surgery addiction, but insists his pal was in denial.
I don’t know if I would say he looks like a lizard, but he looks like something…..

In her first interview since her brother Michael’s June 25 death, Janet Jackson says she been unable to watch television.
“It will drive you crazy,” she tells October’s Harper’s Bazaar. “People can have rhinoceros skin, but there’s a point when something’s going to hurt you. Not everyone is stone, stone. I haven’t watched the news in weeks. I had to ask my chef, ‘How’s Obama doing?’ I haven’t read a newspaper. On top of that, [we've lost] a family member.”

At times during the interview, Janet – who will perform a tribute to her late brother at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards – was at a loss for words.
“My brother is, I mean was…” she stammers when talking about Michael’s style. Shifting on the couch and staring at the floor, she adds, “You have to forgive me, because it’s really hard to believe he’s passed.”
Mary J. Blige Won’t Do Michael Jackson Vienna Tribute

Jermaine Jackson’s planned Vienna, Austria tribute to his late brother Michael is beginning to look like a case of wishful thinking – Mary J. Blige has turned the show down.
Jackson announced Blige and Chris Brown would be among the headliners at a press conference on Tuesday, but both have since insisted they won’t be part of the September 26 concert at the Imperial Schonbrunn Palace.
Brown’s spokesperson has said, “Chris is not confirmed to perform or participate in any capacity for this show,” and now Blige’s people have followed suit – an aide insists the singer will be in Italy and not in Austria on the day of the tribute.
Natalie Cole, Akon and Sister Sledge are also on the bill, according to Jermaine.
Meanwhile, promoters are trying to play down reports that the King of Pop’s brother is staging the Vienna show against his mother Katherine’s wishes. Event organizer George Kindel says, “She will be there with Michael Jackson’ s kids.”
Don’t you think Jermaine would have confirmation from the celebrities before holding a press conference?
Chris Brown To Lead Michael Jackson Tribute Concert

Chris Brown is to make his musical comeback by headlining the upcoming tribute concert to Michael Jackson in Vienna, Austria.
Chris has been announced as the first headline act for the star-studded Jackson tribute concert set to take place on September 26th. The news was revealed by the King of Pop’s brother Jermaine at a press conference in Vienna on Tuesday. The Jackson 5 singer told reporters, “Michael was his idol and he (Brown) dedicated his first number one hit in the U.S. to Michael. Chris is a very, very talented artist.”
Other artists on the bill include Mary J. Blige, Natalie Cole and Sister Sledge, as well as boy-band US5. The rest of the line up will be unveiled in a series of press conferences to be held over the course of this week with scheduled stops in both London and Berlin, Germany.
Jermaine revealed the tribute concert, which will take place in front of 65,000 fans at Vienna’s former imperial Schoenbrunn Palace, will feature a multi-cultural line up – because his brother’s music touched people all over the globe.
He adds, “We have many, many surprises. This is growing more and more and we have more names to announce. We want this to be a dignified performance for Michael – he attracted people from around the globe so we need to have a diverse mix of talent.”
