Already a massive star in her native U.K., with one million singles sold, two No. 1 hits, and three No. 1 Airplay records to her credit, soulful pop singer and actress Pixie Lott is set to unleash her sizable talent Stateside this summer. Interscope Records will release Lott’s debut U.S. single, “Boys and Girls,” via all digital service providers on August 24th.
The high-energy dance-pop jam “Boys and Girls” is 19-year-old Lott’s second consecutive No. 1 single in the U.K., following her blockbuster debut “Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh),” which entered both the iTunes and U.K. Singles charts at No. 1 after its video racked up more than three million views on YouTube in June 2009.
The track is just a taste of what’s to come when Lott releases her debut album, Turn It Up, in the U.S. in early 2011. Already certified double-platinum in the U.K., Turn It Up features Lott’s songwriting collaborations with Red One (Lady Gaga), Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen, Sia), Toby Gad (Beyonce, Fergie), Cutfather and Jonas Jeburg (Kylie Minogue, Pussycat Dolls), and Kara DioGuardi. Eminem, the Nielsen SoundScan Artist of the Decade for 2000-2009, is already kicking off the new decade with more of the same. His latest album, Recovery (Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records), makes its debut atop the charts this week with sales of 741,000 copies; easily outpacing any other release for this year, and setting a bar that no other album has reached for first week sales in almost two years.
The album’s first single, “Not Afraid,” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in May. The song was only the 16th in the 52-year history of the Hot 100 to debut at the top spot, and the first rap song to do so in 13 years. The second single from the album, “Love The Way You Lie” (featuring Rihanna), is already showing tremendous growth at radio, and debuts at #1 on the Singles chart this week, with sales of 337,000.
“It’s been 12 years since Eminem signed to Aftermath and Interscope,” remarked Jimmy Iovine, Chairman, Interscope Geffen A&M Records. “This is a real watershed moment in his career. In my opinion, with this album Eminem’s impact on popular culture, and as a lyricist and writer, puts him on course to be mentioned in the same sentence as Dylan, Springsteen, and Bono.”
Recovery is being hailed as a tour de force for the rapper, receiving a four-star review in the current issue of Rolling Stone, and being described as “his fiercest and most focused work in a long time … a strong return to the form that made him a star in the first place.” (USA Today, 6/21/10)

Rob Fusari, the producer that claims to have launched Lady Gaga’s career is suing the “Bad Romance” singer for a whoppin $35 million. He filed a lawsuit against the star in New York on Wednesday. Rob Fusari said that he signed a deal with Lady Gaga in 2006 and he believes that he played a huge role in helping her get a record deal with Interscope Records. As soon as Gaga started to become a huge-successful artist, she dropped him.
Rob Fusari has apparently worked with some major artists, such as Will Smith and Destiny’s Child. He even produced several tracks on Lady Gaga’s debut album, “The Fame.”
As of right now Lady Gaga has not commented on this.
Do you think this man just wants some extra mulla?!?!

Actress Taylor Momsen is in a band called Pretty Reckless. The band has recently added two demos to their official MySpace page, www.myspace.com/theprettyreckless
Both tracks were written by Momsen and showcase the actress’s surprisingly affective singing voice, which really isn’t bad for a 16 year old.
Taylor Momsen and her Pretty Reckless crew made their debut in May with a concert at New York club the Annex, Rock Daily previously reported. The band is signed to Interscope Records, who will release the Pretty Reckless’ debut disc later this year. Momsen’s Gossip Girl co-star Leighton Meester also has a debut album in the works. In addition to contributing to Cobra Starship’s “Good Girls Go Bad,” Meester’s single “Body Control” also recently leaked out last month.
Which actor or actress from Gossip Girl is going to release a single next!?
Hahaha, but seriously………
