Paris Hilton is hooking up with club-music producer extraordinaire Afrojack for her next record and is close to getting it done.
“I’ve been in the studio all day recording my new album. It’s completely different from my last album. I’m going with a whole new genre. I have Afrojack executive-producing the entire album. So we’ve just been coming up with the most incredible tracks,” she teased. “I was just in the studio with RedFoo the other night, so we’re going to be doing my new single with LMFAO.”
Given how ubiquitous LMFAO is these days, a Paris/LMFAO track could be the perfect combination to reintroduce the world to Paris Hilton, pop star. “I’m so excited. The music’s turning out so great and I can’t wait to release it this summer. Two nights ago [I recorded the song with LMFAO],” she said, describing the session as “awesome.” “I’ve known them since I was a little girl. We grew up together ’cause our parents are friends, so I’m just so proud of them and all their success and what they’ve done ’cause they’ve just created this whole ‘Party Rock’ brand and it’s just so awesome.”
Noting that she grew up singing in the choir and can also play violin, piano and guitar, Paris defends her choice to record another album. “I think a lot of people don’t know that music is my passion since I was a little girl,” she said. “I’m very musically talented. This is more my thing [musically on this album], more of a club scene, more dance. … The single’s done; it’s in the can. That’s probably going to be out [within] the next month or two.”
Hilton isn’t just singing for her new record — she’ll also be trying her hand at singing on the big screen when she works with “Repo! The Genetic Opera” director Darren Bousman on his next project. “I’m about to do a film with my friend Darren Bousman. He has a new musical that’s coming up called ‘The Devil’s Carnival,’ ” she said. “It’s about Hell, it’s a musical and it’s different.”

Pittsburgh rapper Maxamillion has filed a $2.3 million lawsuit against rapper Wiz Khalifa with the claim that Khalifa’s hit “Black and Yellow” stole elements from his own tune “Pink N Yellow.” Maxamillion, otherwise known as Max Warren, says “Pink N Yellow” was copyrighted in 2008, while Khalifa’s hit was copyrighted last year.
Maxamillion’s lawsuit points at Khalifa along with two other songwriters and an assortment of record companies and music publishers.

After her brief journey to the dark side, Rihanna’s returning to the lighter side of pop with a new album that’s set to be released later this year. Producer Sean Garrett is dishing the details exclusively to Rap-Up.com.
“It’s a fucking smash. I gave her a humongous radio record. It’s just so infectious. It’s about getting past any drama and just being happy to be alive. It’s an encouraging record. It feels great and it’s got great tempo…Whenever I think of Rihanna, it makes me happy. To be honest, I wasn’t really that excited about hearing her in a dark zone. I love Rihanna for being that girl… She’s like the lil’ fantasy chick—nice brown skin, beautiful woman with a Caribbean swagger that’s ridiculous.”
In addition to Sean Garrett, Rihanna is reportedly working with Ne-Yo and David Guetta. It’s looking like her new album will be more radio-friendly than Rated R.
“Whenever I think of Rihanna, it makes me happy. To be honest, I wasn’t really that excited about hearing her in a dark zone. I love Rihanna for being that girl… She’s like the lil’ fantasy chick—nice brown skin, beautiful woman with a Caribbean swagger that’s ridiculous,” said Garrett.
We couldn’t agree more. We’re excited for the return of the real Rihanna.

Leona Lewis Grateful Fan Attack Wasn’t Worse

Leona Lewis is grateful an attack with a crazy fan at a London book signing this month didn’t turn deadly.
The singing sensation was left in shock after a fan reportedly lashed out at her during a book signing session in London.
Peter Kowalczyk, 29, the emotionally unstable singer accused of punching the star, was arrested at the scene, and later sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
Despite canceling several promotional appearances following the incident, Leona is eager to put the ordeal behind her.
“It could have been worse. I’m still alive, it’s just something you have to deal with when you have fame and the positives far outweigh the negatives. I don’t like to dwell on the negatives, I’m a very positive person.”
Leona is as loyal as she is positive; the songbird turned down the chance to make out with Chace Crawford.
The X Factor winner, 24, and the Gossip Girl star appeared together in her “I Will Be” video last year, but Leona didn’t want to upset her longtime boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa by smooching with the hunk.
“They wanted me and Chace to kiss. But I said no way. I’d just have been too embarrassed, he’s my friend! He’s so beautiful, I mean, look at him – he could be a girl. He’d be a really pretty girl,” she laughed.
“But I just don’t think of him like that. And it wouldn’t be fair to Lou to kiss other guys.”
