New Details On Miley Cyrus’ Upcoming Album And First Single ‘Can’t Be Tamed’

After selling 15 million records worldwide and touting 5 chart topping album debuts, Miley Cyrus is releasing her Can’t Be Tamed CD June 22 worldwide on Hollywood Records. MySpace Music will host the global premier of the new single, “Can’t Be Tamed,” on Friday, April 30 at 12pm EST/9am PST. “Can’t Be Tamed” will arrive at radio May 3, and will be available as a digital single for sale on iTunes May 18. The new album will be available as a standalone CD, as well as a combo CD/DVD concert release. The DVD contains a full length, never-before-seen presentation from Miley’s sold-out worldwide “Miley World” tour. The concert will also be excerpted in a prime-time network special, to be announced shortly.

Miley has grown up in the public eye, and her new CD reveals her natural progression and sophistication. Miley teamed with Grammy Award-winning producer John Shanks (Sheryl Crow, Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Bon Jovi) and long-time Miley Cyrus collaborators Tim James & Antonina Armato (“Seven Things” and “See You Again”). Tim & Antonina produced and co-wrote “Can’t Be Tamed” with Miley, and the video was directed by MTV Award-winning Robert Hales (Justin Timberlake, Gnarls Barkley, Kings of Leon.) “Can’t Be Tamed” is a self-empowering song in which Miley asserts that she has to stay true to herself in relationships, and it is sure to become an anthem among her legions of fans around the world. Miley has several high profile appearances this summer including Rock in Rio dates in Lisbon May 29 and Madrid June 6, Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series in Central Park, Live! with Regis & Kelly June 18, and the Much Music Video Awards June 20 (Miley is co-hosting and performing on Much Music Video Awards).

Miley’s Done With Pop Music And Ready For Something Edgier

In an interview with GMTV, Miley Cyrus revealed that she’s ready to ditch pop music all together for something edgier, a style that’s truer to herself.

“I want to do my last pop record, I’m working on a record right now. I kinda want this to be my last record for a little while and be able to take a break and just get all the types of music that I really love, you know my favourite styles. And be able to have something edgier and not have to worry about people saying, “Oh, this isn’t what her fans want to listen to.’

“Because in a few years, as I grow up, so will my fans and I won’t have to focus on that as much and I’ll be able to have more of the sound of music that I’m into.”

Simon Cowell Has A Soft Spot For Miley Cyrus

Seems like Simon Cowell has a bit of a soft spot for Miley Cyrus.

Cowell has picked Cyrus’ song ‘The Climb’ to be sung by the four remaining contestants on the British reality show X Factor. Each will perform a rendition of the tune for the show, but the song choice has the two older contenders, Olly Murs and Danyl Johnson, nervous. The song is clearly meant to attract a younger audience, so does that mean this year’s winner will be either Joe McElderry or Stacey Solomon?

Miley Cyrus Celebrates 17th Birthday In “Pretty Woman” Dress

In New York City Wednesday night, Disney’s Miley Cyrus dressed in an elegant red frock — patterned after the one made famous by Julia Roberts’ hooker alter ego “Vivian” in the hit 1989 film Pretty Woman — for an ’80s-themed party celebrating her 17th birthday.

Page Six says that Constantine Mouralis performed a few numbers from Rock of Ages for Miley. A source said, “Miley had seen the show two weeks ago and loved it, so her mom Tish brought the cast in to surprise her. But I’m not sure who was more into Constantine — Miley or her mother.”

Miley Cyrus The Next Justin Timberlake?

Is Miley the new Justin? Critically-acclaimed producer Timbaland sure thinks so!

Although Timberland has worked with some of the most talented musicians in the industry today — including Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, Missy, Keri Hilson, and Nelly Furtado — the Virginia native was quite taken with television’s Hannah Montana, who he collaborated with for his new album, Shock Value II.

He says: “Man, she’s gonna be like Justin [Timberlake]. She comes from that same musical background, where she’s just got it. Her voice is just there. The best way to put it is she’s special. When I worked with her, I was very impressed. I was like, ‘Whoa.’”

I think Timberland needs to just take a few breaths and get to a hospital. He’s lost it.

Miley Cyrus Plans Dolly Parton-Themed Birthday Party

Miley Cyrus will celebrate turning 17 next month with a Dolly Parton-themed birthday bash.

The singer hails from the same Nashville, Tennessee hometown as the buxom country queen – and admits Parton’s one of her idols.

So she’s preparing to boost her bust and slip on a big blonde wig for a party on November 23 – and she’s insisting all her guests dress as Dolly too.

During an appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show on Friday, Cyrus told the host, “I want to rent out a cool place and play all Dolly Parton music and have everyone dress up as their favorite Dolly moment. I am really excited about getting all my crew members to dress up as Dolly. That’s probably going to be the funniest thing ever.”

For those of you that don’t watch “Hanna Montana” on the Disney Channel, Dolly Parton play’s Miley Cyrus’s godmother.

Miley is going to have to adjust her bust size big time to look like Dolly!

Miley Cyrus Voted Worst Celebrity Influence

Disney superstar Miley Cyrus’ popularity has suffered a setback – she’s been voted the worst celebrity influence of 2009 in a new online poll.

The Hannah Montana singer/actress, 16, was the number one choice for kids and young teens who voted in AOL’s “Just So You Know Awards.” I am sure having photos leaked on the internet (like the one above) didn’t help anything either.

Britney Spears came in second place, while troubled rapper Kanye West was third. Vanessa Hudgens came in fourth place, followed by Shia LaBeouf in fifth.

Who are the best celebrity influences? Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Nick Jonas, Justin Bieber and Emma Watson.

Miley Cyrus Goes Back On Tour

Miley Cyrus is set to return to the stage on Tuesday after her bout of illness – and has promised fans an extra special show to celebrate.

The Hannah Montana star was forced to axe three gigs on her U.S. tour last week after she was taken ill with a sore throat.

However, after resting up over the weekend, the teen sensation has been given the all-clear to perform again – and wants to make up for lost time when she takes the stage in Auburn Hills, Michigan on Tuesday night.

She writes on her Twitter.com blog, “Got the go ahead from the Doc & the beast is ready to be unleashed! I always love performing in MI but this show is gonna get crazzzzyyy!”

Miley Cyrus Will Have A Cameo In “Sex And The City”

Miley Cyrus will make a cameo appearance in the Summer 2010 blockbuster “Sex and The City 2″, studio sources have confirmed.

The 16-year-old pop sensation will film a guest spot in the second film adaptation of the HBO hit show, “Sex and The City.”
On Friday, GossipCop.com cited spies who claim that Miley will appear in a scene with Kim Cattrall, who plays slutty PR exec Samantha Jones in the franchise.

In the scene, Mario Cantone, who stars as Anthony, quips: “Mother of God! She is wearing the same dress as Hannah Montana,” to Samantha when she steps out in the same outfit as Miley.
