Taylor Swift Takes A Break From The Spotlight

In an effort to avoid overexposure, Scott Borchetta, head of Taylor Swift’s record label, announced that Swift will be taking a break from the spotlight.

“She was on an amazing writing spree through December and January, and we were able to go in and cut all those things,” Borchetta says. “If she writes something great between now and July, it will go on the record. She’s been extraordinarily prolific the last six months.”

After winning the Country Music Award for Entertainer of the Year and the youngest artist in history to win a Grammy for Album of The Year, with over 10 million albums sold and 23 songs in the top 40 on the charts, I’d say Swift is already overexposed. The negative reaction to Swift’s Grammy win was probably the deciding factor to keep Swift out of the spotlight.

How long will Swift be laying low? Her third album is due out by the end of the year and her first single is expected to make its way to radio sometime in September, so if you want to catch a glimpse of Swift, you’ll have to track her down on her world tour.

Do you thank Taylor Swift is overexposed?

Colombian singer Juanes, a 17-time Latin Grammy Winner, brought 15 international artists to Havana, Cuba on Sunday for the ‘Peace Without Borders’ concert.

Concert officials estimate that 1.15 million Cubans attended the Peace Without Borders event setting a new record for the number of people at a staged event held at the Revolution Plaza in Havana.

I can’t believe what my eyes are seeing,” Juanes said on stage, describing the sea of people as a “beautiful dream.”

The concert was Juanes’ attempt to connect isolated Cubans with the rest of the region, including the United States.
