Lady Gaga Leads with 13 MTV VMA Nominations!

Lady Gaga continues to smash records on her quest for world domination and today marks another milestone. Gaga has been nominated for 13 MTV VMA awards. The awards won’t be handed out until September 2nd, but Gaga has already ‘won’ in two very distinct ways. Gaga received the most nominations ever in a single VMA year, and she’s the first female artist nominated for two different videos in the “Video of the Year” category for “Bad Romance” and “Telephone” featuring Beyoncé.

Eminem racked up 8 VMA nominations, including “Best Male Video,” and “Video of the Year” for “Not Afraid.”

In the newcomers category, both Florence + The Machine and B.o.B. are up for 5 VMAs each, Ke$ha’s up for 3 Moonmen, and Justin Bieber is up “Best New Artist” for “Baby.”

Is Madonna Angry With Lady Gaga?

Apparently the Queen of Pop, Madonna, thinks that Lady Gaga is a copycat! According to Madonna’s friends, the legend is “annoyed” with Gaga and she accuses her of ripping off her avant garde style.

Madonna’s copycat claims have been further fuelled by Gaga’s controversial — or “blasphemous,” if Katy Perry is to be believed — video, “Alejandro.” The clip shows Gaga dressed in a latex nuns’ outfit, suggestively swallowing a set of rosary beads, and appears to include references to Madonna’s early ’90s videos for “Like A Prayer” and “Vogue.”

”It just bugs Madonna that Lady Gaga uses fashion and her performance style in a way that has so many people calling her ‘The New Madonna,’” One spy says. “Madonna thinks she is unique and there cannot be a younger version of something that is unique.”

The America’s Catholic League can see the similarities between Madonna and Gaga as well and here’s what they had to say about it all:

“Lady Gaga is playing Madonna copy cat, squirming around half-naked with half-naked guys, abusing Catholic symbols – they’re always Catholic symbols – while bleating out Alejandro enough times to induce vomit… She has now become the new poster girl for American decadence and Catholic bashing, sans (without) the looks and talent of her role model.”

Lady Gaga Is Recording Her New Album On Her Tour Bus!

Lady Gaga who is currently traveling all over the world on her Monster Ball tour, has decided to start recording her new album. The only difference between recording this album and her previous album, this time she’s recording tracks in a mini recording studio on her tour bus.

R&B singer Akon, the man who signed Lady Gaga to his record label in 2007 shared some details on Gaga’s next album with Vibe magazine.

He tells Vibe magazine, “She records while she’s on the road. I’m flying out to Europe to work on some new records with her. Gaga’s just like me. She has a tour bus with a studio in it. Some of the songs I’ve heard are going to be crazy. She’s getting bigger and better.”

He adds, “All I’m doing at the end of the day is listening to the tracks Gaga has written and approving them for her album. She has producers that she works with outside of myself and they are coming up with some incredible records. But the beauty of it is she knows exactly what she wants. So it just makes it easier for me.”

I don’t think Akon should really question any of Lady Gaga’s music, I think she knows what she’s doing.

Kid Cudi Drops Out of Gaga’s ‘Monster Ball’ Tour

Once again, Lady Gaga will have to find another touring partner amidst controversy.

You may recall that Gaga was originally going to co-headline a tour with Kanye West, but that came to an end following Kanye’s outburst against Taylor Swift at the MTV VMAs.

Now, Kid Cudi, Gaga’s opening act, has dropped out of the tour following an incident in which he punched a fan in the face during a recent concert in Vancouver, although his reps released a statement suggesting the incident has nothing to do with Cudi’s departure.

The statement says –

“Kid Cudi has decided to take an early leave of absence from Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball tour, in order to balance his schedule surrounding the recording of his next album and acting commitments…Cudi does not want to disappoint his fans and will move forward with his individual show dates in December and throughout the month of January.”

Lady Gaga Gets “Wiggy” With It

Speaking of Lady Gaga, the pop phenemenon never leaves home without a wig for every ocassion .

“I have more than 20 wigs. So I can have a new hairstyle without having to keep running to the hairdresser every day. That’s great, right? And depending on my mood I opt for this at one time and for that at others. How I present myself to the outside world always depends on how I feel inside,” she said.

The odd crooner believes each of her wigs has its own individual personality and when she dons the locks she takes on its characteristics. “My red curly wig is wild and a little confused. I think I’m also just a bit confused and messy,” she added.
