Adam Lambert kissing a man

American Idol star Adam Lambert has defended his same-sex kiss onstage at the American Music Awards on Sunday after angry viewers complained about his risqué performance.

The openly gay singer, who claimed second place in the hit TV talent show in May, stunned audiences with a saucy rendition of his debut single For Your Entertainment, groping and writhing with dancers dressed in bondage outfits. He concluded the track by pulling his male keyboardist in for a passionate kiss.

Concerned viewers flooded internet forums with complaints about Lambert moments after he concluded the ceremony.

However, the star insists he wasn’t trying to offend viewers, telling the Los Angeles Times, “I’m hoping people were entertained. For those who weren’t, maybe I’m not their cup of tea. I’m just trying to have a good time onstage. It’s a sexy song. It’s 2009; it’s time to take more risks. It’s about entertainment. People want to be surprised. It’s too bad that people are so scared.”

And the 27 year old argued that female pop stars have incorporated their sexuality into live shows for years.

2009 American Music Awards

Eminem and Lady Gaga have been added to the performer lineup for the American Music Awards, according to Entertainment Weekly. The 37th annual show, which will air live from Los Angeles on November 22, will also feature performances from Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, the Black Eyed Peas and, in the television debut of the title track from his upcoming album For Your Entertainment, Adam Lambert.

The show will be an “American Idol” reunion of sorts, as alumni Kelly Clarkson, Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood will perform as well.

The awards show will feature a similarly glittering array of nominees determined by data from Nielsen SoundScan radio and retail figures, with Taylor Swift in the lead with six nominations, followed by the late Michael Jackson and Eminem at five apiece. Though Jackson had not released new material for nearly a decade, his nominations are based on the strong sales of his catalog albums following his June 25 death.

Swift’s nominations include Artist of the Year; Favorite Country Album (for Fearless); Favorite Female Pop or Rock Artist; and Favorite Female Country Artist. MJ was also recognized in the Pop or Rock Artist of Year category, Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist and Favorite Soul/R&B Album (for Number Ones). Em’s nominations include Artist of the Year; Favorite Male Pop or Rock Artist; Favorite Male Rap/Hip-Hop Artist; and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album (for Relapse).

Other multiple-category nominees include Lady Gaga, T.I., Kings of Leon, Beyoncé and the Peas, who all have three. For the third year, winners will be determined by online voting.

Chris Brown “Graffiti” Album Cover Art Revealed

Chris Brown Graffiti Album cover

Chris Brown released the album cover for his forthcoming Graffiti album (due December 15) on Monday (November 2). The singer tweeted the image on Monday afternoon, just as images from his “Crawl” music video were released. He appears as a serious, space-travelling, guitar-playing graffiti artist.

On the cover, Brown is decked out in all black wearing a blazer, turtleneck, sunglasses and army boots and holding an electric guitar one shoulder and a can of spray paint in the other hand — which actually looks like a mechanical hand. He appears to be standing in a spacecraft, in front of a window showing stars and the Earth. The album’s title is in a liquid, futuristic silver font, contrasting oddly with a collection of colorful cartoon characters.

Interesting………. I mean I do have to admit, it’s much better than an orange jumpsuit.

It actually looks a lot like Adam Lambert’s cd cover for his new album “For Your Entertainment.” Is Chris Trying to tell us something? Don’t you agree, they have the same feel!

Adam Lambert unveiled a new cover for the first official single off his upcoming album For Your Entertainment. The cover is just as dramatic as his album cover, but far less campy. Lambert appears to be channeling Rihanna in this pic.

Lambert also debuted his single ‘For Your Entertainment’ on KIISfm’s morning show with Ryan Seacrest today. The song is not at all what we were expecting from the Idol runner-up. The track is completely pop, so much so that it could have been a Britney reject. But we have no shame…we’re loving it after a few listens.

Adam Lambert has been getting a lot of criticism for his upcoming For Your Entertainment album cover.

Lambert took to his official Twitter account to respond:

“Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy. It’s an omage to the past. It IS ridiculous.”

“For those that don’t get it: oh well… Glad to have gotten your attention.”

You definitely got everyone’s attention, but why stay stuck in the past? We want something fresh and new, something that reinvents the past.

I’m starting to wonder if Lambert thinks he’s the second coming of Lady Gaga…
