A Las Vegas judge on Wednesday dismissed the cocaine possession case against pop star Bruno Mars after he successfully completed court-ordered drug education classes and community service, even exceeding the amount of hours he was told to serve.

Clark County District Court Judge Jessie Walsh cleared Bruno of the charge, said Mary Ann Price, court information officer for the 8th Judicial District Court.

Mars, whose real name is Peter Hernandez, was arrested in September 2010 after a bathroom attendant at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel caught him with “a baggy of white powder,” later found to be cocaine, according to a police report at the time.

He pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing cocaine and received a $2,000 fine, 200 hours of community service, drug counseling and was told to stay out of trouble during a year of informal probation. Bruno performed all the requirements and exceeded the 200 hours of service, his attorney told Reuters.

Judge Walsh took over Mars’ case after County Clark Deputy District Attorney David Schubert, who prosecuted Mars in early 2011, was arrested for buying cocaine himself a few months later.

Eminem: “I was weak with this certain thing I was going to die.”

Eminem recently opened up about his music and the meaning behind his new album Recovery.

“It took me awhile to admit I actually did have a problem,” the musician said. “In the hip-hop world that I live in, it can be mistaken for weakness and the last thing you want to do in hip-hop is admit that you’re weak. But if I didn’t admit I was weak with this certain thing I was going to die.”

So what advice does Eminem have for others in the business?

“That’s a tough question. I don’t know how you avoid it. I mean, I could say the cliched things, make sure you stay on the right path, you make the right decisions in life. You know, fame is a funny thing, man, especially, you know, actors, musicians, rappers, rock singers, it’s kind of a lifestyle and it’s easy to get caught up in it – you go to bars, you go to clubs, everyone’s doing a certain thing… It’s tough.”

While the rest of the band thinks Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is back to using drugs again, a spokesman for Tyler is claiming otherwise.

Tyler’s spokesman has said he’s just taking a quick break to nurse a shoulder injury and he’s working on his autobiography at the same time.

Whatever the truth may be, these guys just need to talk it out with each other instead of through other people.

Steven Tyler’s Aerosmith bandmates say they’re worried about their frontman’s health and well being.

“Steven, he isolates more and more all the time — that’s what gives it away to me that there’s something going on,” drummer Joey Kramer tells Billboard.com. “I don’t know what that is. I know he’s made some not so great choices and he’s got some negative influences around him now. I love the guy. I just want to see him get some help.”

Guitarist Brad Whitford acknowledges that “this guy[Steven Tyler] has a tremendous history of drug abuse, and you have to be suspicious that this is something that’s probably going on with him. I have a feeling we might be looking at someone who’s just really struggling very badly.” Whitford adds that Tyler’s behavior in recent years “was becoming more erratic and unreasonable” leading to the singer’s recent decision to take two years away from Aerosmith to focus on what he refers to as “brand Tyler.”

Kramer says he’s left several voice messages for Tyler, but none have been returned.

Whatever is going on, we wish them all the best.

According to the Mirror, Stephen Gately died from complications of drinking in excess.

The Boyzone star was discovered by his partner Andy Cowles in his Majorca apartment. Gately was kneeling against the sofa with his face buried in a pillow.

Gately was reportedly out drinking at a club until 6AM and later died in his sleep after he choked on his vomit.

In the past, Gately has suffered from depression, but his attorney Gerald Kean has stated, “There’s no foul play involved. There is nothing untoward. It’s not drugs, it’s not suicide, it’s not murder, it’s not a fight.

“I’m devastated. I can’t believe it’s real,” said Ronan, fellow Boyzone member. “We’ve lost a best friend and a brother. Stephen was loved by every one of us. He was one of the most caring, compassionate and gentle people I’ve known.”

MTV will be airing the controversial documentary series with DJ AM about addiction called “Gone Too Far” on Monday, October 12 at 10pm. The one-hour, eight-episode series hosted and created by Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein chronicles young addicts between the ages of 20-25 in the grip of addiction who are offered a chance at recovery.

MTV reported that they have received the consent and support of DJ AM’s family. His family told MTV, “After careful consideration we have decided to air the show. Adam felt strongly that by doing this series he could help other addicts who were at a crisis point to get sober. Adam was fully aware that if it were not for his own sobriety he never would have achieved the level of success and happiness he had found. Helping people in their recovery was a huge part of Adam’s life. It is our hope through airing this show that people will get to see the side of Adam that we knew and loved, not just the celebrity DJ, but the honest and caring person who gave so much of himself to help others. The decision to air the show has been difficult, but we do this with the profound belief that it will inspire others to seek help.”

MTV Still Interested In DJ AM Intervention Series

Prior to the unfortunate death of DJ AM, MTV had been working on a drug-intervention series with him called Gone Too Far.

The heads of production are currently in talks with DJ AM’s family about how and when to show the episodes. The team was able to capture eight episodes worth of footage.

Some worry that because the show follows DJ AM in the role of a “sober and experienced tough-love guide for troubled addicts” and the strong implications that his own death resulted from drug abuse, that the show would come off as ” hypocritical or exploitative.”

What do you think? Should MTV air the series and, if so, what message will it send?

Well, Bobby Brown responds in his own interview with The Insider. Brown says that the first time he met Whitney at the Soul Train Music Awards is “one of the things I try to forget.”

Brown went on to say “I think we corrupted each other…I don’t think she hurt me or I hurt her. I just think we had a 14 year marriage that had its ups and downs and not many people understood it.”

When asked about his drug use, Brown said, “I think I was bored. I had just gotten married and things weren’t right. Unfortunately, I turned to alcohol and drugs.”

Whitney Oprah

Today marks the premier of the two day Oprah exclusive interview with Whitney Houston. Did you remember to tune in?

Whitney opened up about her difficult and tumultuous marriage to Bobby Brown. It pains us to hear how abusive their relationship was.

There was a time that he “slapped” her and she retaliated by hitting him “three times” in the head. While Bobby was drunk on night he spat in her face leaving her “very hurt, very angry.” Their marriage got so bad that Bobby “was cutting her head off pictures and painting evil eyes on their bedroom walls with spray paint.”

Whitney admits she was trying to be the good wife by letting her husband be the successful one. She tried to downplay her own success to make that scum bag feel better.

Jealousy’s a bitch, isn’t it Bobby? You’ll never be all that Whitney is!
