David Archuleta‘s second album ‘The Other Side Down‘ has been pushed back to October – allegedly because of the lukewarm response afforded to lead single “Something ‘Bout Love.” Will this music video generate more interest?? I don’t think so…….

David Archuleta’s Album Pushed Back

David Archuleta announced that the release of his album The Other Side of Down will be pushed back from September to October.
Archuleta posted the following message on his official website:
“We’d like you all to be the first to know that the release date for The Other Side of Down has changed. It will now be coming on October 5th. Like the last time we dealt with a date change, this one is definitely for the best. David would like to make sure he’s delivering the best possible album and he needs just a little more time to do it.”
We love David Archuleta, but could a weak debut of his first single ‘Something ‘Bout Love’ have anything to do with the album getting pushed back?

David Archuleta Concert Cancelled Due To Snowstorm
Teen singing sensation David Archuleta has apologized to fans after heavy snowstorm forced him to axe a show in Minnesota. The ex-American Idol had been scheduled to perform at a concert in the Fitzgerald Auditorium in St. Paul on Tuesday, but had to cancel at the last-minute due to stormy weather.
In messages on his Twitter.com page, the 18 year old expressed his disappointment to fans: “NO! Just found out the show in Minnesota was cancelled from the weather! 
I’m so sorry you guys. I hope everyone is safe though! There’s a really bad snowstorm in the area that’s really dangerous on the road and for traveling. Might not make it safely.”

The album will be released on October 13th and reports claim that a new holiday classic will be born with the song ‘Melodies of Christmas’. Included on the album will be classics like “Silent Night,” “Joy To The World,” and “The First Noel.” There’s even a soul-stirring duet of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” between David and Charice Pempengco, the 17-year-old powerhouse vocalist from the Philippines who won the world over when she went from YouTube sensation to making Oprah cry with her talent. A new classic will be born with “Melodies of Christmas,” a heart-warming song co-written by David and his father, Jeff Archuleta.

Singer David Archuleta received honors in the Male Music Rising Star category at The Alma Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 17th.
The ALMA’s, celebrates outstanding achievements of Latinos in the entertainment industry.
Archuleta also performed a song in Spanish during the ceremony.

“Crush” is one of my favorite debut singles by any American Idol contestant. For David Archuleta, it was a perfect choice. It’s a refreshing ballad that’s sure to have all of his teenage female fans and their moms falling in love with him all over again. To be critical, the song is pretty safe. Archuleta definitely sounds good and his voice is one of the best aspects of the song. Hopefully, he will stretch himself and challenge his vocal abilities with his next single. Nonetheless, he’s off to a great start.
