Kris Allen Performs Hip Hop Medley

We haven’t been hearing much about Idol winner Kris Allen. His debut album hasn’t performed well, which makes us wonder what happened to all of his fans from American Idol.

Allen performed a special Hip Hop medley this past weekend at the Z100 Jingle Ball. The medley included his well known cover of Kanye West’s ‘Heartless’ and Coolio’s ‘Gangsters Paradise’.

Maybe Allen should put out an album of all Hip Hop cover songs…

Boyle And Bocelli Battle For No. 1

On next week’s Billboard 200 albums chart, the sweet sounds of Susan Boyle’s album I Dreamed a Dream may be replaced by the holiday tunes of Andrea Bocelli as the latter’s My Christmas set could rise to the top.

Boyle is going toe-to-toe with Bocelli for the top slot and each artist’s album could shift somewhere between 375,000 and 400,000 copies by week’s end on Dec. 6. If Bocelli reaches No. 1, it will be the Italian’s tenor’s first chart-topping set. “My Christmas” has been lodged in the No. 2 slot for the past three weeks after debuting at No. 3 a month ago.

Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream rocked the Billboard 200 this past week when it bowed atop the tally with the year’s best sales frame for an album this year, shifting 701,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Pickler released ‘Santa Baby’ last year and, after the success it’s had, she decided to release a music video this year.

Carrie Underwood Variety Show “An All-Star Holiday Special” To Air Dec. 7

American Idol turned country star Carrie Underwood is returning to the network that made her a star to host a variety special, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The two-hour special tentatively titled Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special, will air December 7 on FOX.

Carrie Underwood is the most commercially successful artist to emerge from American Idol. She will be performing a string of hits, holiday classics, songs from her upcoming third album Play On, which is available Nov.3. available Nov. 3. She will even participate in some comedy skits!

Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, and American Idol 7 champ David Cook will guest star.

Carrie Underwood To Have Holiday Variety Special On FOX

Carrie Underwood is set to star in her own holiday variety special for FOX with Producer, film director, choreographer and So You Think You Can Dance judge, Adam Shankman who he will be co-producing with Nigel Lythgoe and directing her special.

Underwood’s new album Play On will be released November 3rd.

Attention David Archuleta fans!

We’ve got a preview of his upcoming Christmas album Christmas From The Heart.

The album will be released on October 13th and reports claim that a new holiday classic will be born with the song ‘Melodies of Christmas’. Included on the album will be classics like “Silent Night,” “Joy To The World,” and “The First Noel.” There’s even a soul-stirring duet of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” between David and Charice Pempengco, the 17-year-old powerhouse vocalist from the Philippines who won the world over when she went from YouTube sensation to making Oprah cry with her talent. A new classic will be born with “Melodies of Christmas,” a heart-warming song co-written by David and his father, Jeff Archuleta.

As we reported yesterday, Britney Spears will be releasing a new album just in time for the holidays. The album will be a 2 disc set of the pop princess’ 18 chart topping singles re-recorded, remixed, and revised with updated verses and breakdowns.

Britney – Just In Time For The Holidays

Say what you like, but Britney Spears is one business savvy woman!

Britney is reportedly going to release a double disc of re-recorded, remixed, and revised versions of 18 singles called Revised: The Singles Collection. The 2 disc set will be released in November 2009, just in time for the holidays, and will include two new tracks ‘Nine 1 1′ and ‘Eclipse.’ Moby, Bloodshy & Avant, Christopher ‘Tricky’ Stewart and Danja are just a few of the producers Spears is working with.

The album will have a “haunted” theme and will include new photos of Britney “bound by ropes in chains in an underwater abyss, fighting through the murky darkness to reach the surface.”
