With the success of her recent duet with Eminem, Rihanna is recording her very own version of ‘Love The Way You Lie’. JustJared.com is reporting that producer Alex Da Kid is working on the song with Rihanna. Just Jared also previewed some new lyrics from the song:
“Even angels have their wing cut schemes, and you take that to new extremes, but you will always be my hero, even though you lost your mind.”
Are these directed at Rihanna’s former bf Chris Brown?
Chris Brown Announces New Single ‘Calypso’
I’m hesitant to even mention his name on here, but I’ve been learning to forgive, although I’m sure none of us will ever forget that night before the Grammy’s when Chris Brown beat Rihanna.
Chris Brown’s career has suffered a huge setback following that incident, but it looks like he’s making a bit of a comeback. His movie Takers took the top spot at the box office this past weekend and his single, “Deuces” featuring Tyga and Kevin McCall, is currently poised to overtake the Billboard Hot R&B and Hip-Hop songs chart.
Brown announced his new single ‘Calypso’ via Twitter last night. Brown tweeted, “Geeked UP!!! NEW SINGLE called ‘Calypso’ coming real soon produced by POLOW DA DON,” he wrote, “this is a song that women have been missing from ME!!”

Say it ain’t so!
According to reports, Usher and Chris Brown are planning a tour together. Jermaine Dupri and B. Michael Cox let the news slip during a video blog on Aug. 17th.
“Usher and the boy Chris Brown going on tour…y’all know that, right?” Cox said in the video. “They might don’t know that,” Dupri responded. “I might have just gave y’all some exclusive sh*t!” Cox quipped.
I don’t think this is a good idea at all! Chris Brown needs retire from the music business already.

There was not a dry-eye in the house at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 27, 2010 when Chris Brown took to the BET AWARDS ’10 stage to honor the late Michael Jackson. Kanye West opened the show with a monumental performance of “Power” atop a smoky crag of rocks marking his return to the Awards show spotlight and circuit. King of the South T.I., backed by Travis Barker on drums and flaming pyrotechnics, tore the house down with his first national TV performance since being released from prison. Brown, West and T.I.’s show-stopping performances at this year’s tenth anniversary BET AWARDS ’10 provide platform for these three artists to re-emerge from the ashes for the negative publicity they recently faced to reclaim their status as superstars. Chris Brown’s Tribute To Michael Jackson At 2010 BET Awards
Is Chris Brown starting with the man in the mirror? He gave a weeping emotional performance at yesterday’s BET Awards Michael Jackson Tribute. When it was time for his performance of “Man in the Mirror,” he completely broke composure, tears running down his face as he struggled through the song until falling to his knees, unable to go on. The audience showed their love by loudly picking up the song, singing along. This after his dance to “Remember the Time,” “Smooth Criminal” and “Billie Jean.”
Maybe Chris Brown is starting with the man in the mirror. Since his sentencing last August for assaulting Rihanna Brown has amassed over 290 hours of community labor service and attended domestic violence classes. He still has hundreds of hours to go, however.

New York (AP) – Chris Brown will headline and host a benefit concert in Virginia next month. “Virginia Stand Up! A Call to Action” will be held May 15 at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Performers will include Trey Songz, Keri Hilson, T-Pain, Mario and Ryan Leslie.
The 20-year-old R&B singer said in a statement Monday he wanted to personally contribute to the Haitian relief effort and support an organization that helps people in his home state. Proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross and the Central Virginia Foodbank.
Brown was sentenced last year to five years’ probation and six months of community labor after pleading guilty to felony assault. He was charged in an attack on his then-girlfriend Rihanna hours before the 2009 Grammys.
Michael Jackson’s Death Is The Top Entertainment Story Of 2009

2009 has been a pretty eventful year. Here are 2009′s top entertainment stories as voted by U.S. newspaper and broadcast editors surveyed by The Associated Press.
1. Michael Jackson Dies: On June 25, Jackson was pronounced dead at the age of 50. One of the most momentous and shocking deaths in pop culture history, the event reverberated in many ways. There was the ongoing investigation: Jackson’s death was ruled a homicide, and his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, who says he’s innocent of wrongdoing, is being investigated for manslaughter. There was the gigantic Los Angeles funeral. There was the documentary, “This is It,” of Jackson’s preparations for a comeback concert series. But, perhaps most of all, there was the celebration of his music, on stages and sidewalks the world over.
2. Susan Boyle Becomes Overnight Sensation: Two 21st-century powers – reality TV and the Web – combined to turn the humble, unknown Boyle into an international star. After Boyle sang “I Dreamed a Dream” on “Britain’s Got Talent” on April 11, the clip spread like wildfire online, totaling more than 120 million views on YouTube. Her album, released in November, had the best opening week sales of a female debut in decades.
3. Late-Night Swap: On NBC, Conan O’Brien took over the “Tonight” show, and Jay Leno moved to 10 p.m. All the fanfare may have been overdone, though: At year’s end, neither was receiving good ratings.
4. Walter Cronkite Dies: The passing on July 17 of Cronkite, a paragon of journalism and a father figure to a nation, was not only the sad loss of a universally acknowledged great man but was a reminder of a bygone era in broadcasting.
5. David Letterman Affair: Letterman’s Oct. 1 announcement on his “Late Show” carried two bombshells: He alleged that he had been the victim of an extortion attempt, and he confessed to having affairs with women on his staff. Letterman, who hasn’t shied from the subject on air, saw some of his best ratings in years. The man accused of trying to blackmail Letterman, Robert J. “Joe” Halderman, says he was just shopping a screenplay.
6. Chris Brown Assaults Rihanna: The big story on Grammy night in 2009 didn’t take place on stage but outside the ceremony. Chris Brown assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna, an altercation that led to Brown pleading guilty to felony assault in June. Both R&B stars were in comeback mode before the year was out, releasing new albums just weeks apart.
7. Kanye West Robs Taylor Swift: Bad behavior, not awards, also ruled the story line at the MTV Video Music Awards. When a stage-crashing West interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech for best female video, the rapper clearly underestimated the negative reaction he would inspire.
8. Live Video Explodes On The Web: One of the biggest trends in online video was the emergence of demand – and supply – for live video. Live online video particularly suited daytime news events (when people are at work in front of computers). Millions online watched the inauguration of President Barack Obama and the funeral of Michael Jackson.
9. Kate And Jon Gosselin Broadcast Split: One of reality TV’s latest sensations fell apart just as it was reaching fruition. TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ was winning its best ratings in its fifth season when the Gosselins – parents of eight children – announced their separation. With more than 10 million viewers, that episode earned the show its best ratings. Arguments in the divorce, which became final in December, have thus far prevented the show from continuing. TLC hopes to debut a show for Kate Gosselin in the spring.
10. Heath Ledger Wins Posthumous Oscar: Ledger, whose death topped the poll of 2008′s top entertainment stories, remained a presence in 2009, when he won an Oscar for best-supporting actor for his performance as the Joker in “The Dark Knight.”
Chris Brown Deletes Twitter Account and Billboard Calls His Bluff
December 15, 2009 by imusicdaily

After Chris Brown called out retailers on his personal Twitter account for trying to hurt his album sells by not properly stocking his album in stores, Billboard has called his bluff. Chris just can’t seem to handle the fact that no one cares about his music anymore, at least not like they used to after he beat ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
According to Billboard –
A survey and store visits have found that Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Trans World, Newbury Comics are all carrying the Brown record and sources say that his album received widespread distribution and promotion by his label, Jive Records, and his distributor, Sony Music Entertainment.Jive shipped over 400,000 units of “Graffiti,” and also had it positioned in prime stores space at all key accounts, according to sources. In fact, sources suggest that Jive may have overshipped his record, as sales are slow.
“Not only am I carrying it, I am over carrying it, because it isn’t selling,” says the head of purchasing at one large chain. “I wish I could return it.” He says the album’s first week sales only reached 40% of expectations. At 27-unit Newbury Comics, Carl Mello head of purchasing, echoes that sentiment. “We have it; it’s not selling much.”
“We never considered not bringing it in,” Mello says. “If we stopped bringing in records from every unsavory character that puts out an album, there would be tumbleweed floating around our stores.”
And so far, consumers aren’t flocking to stores to vote on behalf of Brown. Sources project that Brown sold about 100,000 units last week, well below the 150,000-175,000 units he was expected to sell. Mello says that the album is probably about the No. 40 best-selling title at the chain.
Interesting, huh?
Brown has since deleted his Twitter account, which is probably a good thing because he was headed down a path of self-destruction and broadcasting it to the world.
