Carrie Underwood to Release “Good Girl” Single in February

“American Idol” winner Carrie Underwood has announced that “Good Girl,” the first taste from her forthcoming fourth album, will be hitting airwaves on Feb. 23.
In a special video message to her fans, Underwood confirms the song title and says that the track will “blow you guys away.” The track was co-written by Underwood, Ashley Gorley and Chris DeStefano; Gorley previously co-penned the singer’s tracks “Don’t Forget To Remember Me” and “All-American Girl,” while DeStefano has worked on recent material by Kelly Clarkson and David Archuleta.
Along with focusing on her forthcoming album, Underwood spent 2011 joining artists like Brad Paisley and Tony Bennett on duets, making a guest appearance on the “American Idol” finale and co-hosting the CMA Awards with Paisley. The singer will perform at the 2012 CMA Music Festival, which invades Nashvile from June 7-10.
Jason Aldean Biggest Winner at American Country Awards

34-year-old Jason Aldean walked away from Monday’s American Country Awards, which were held in Las Vegas, with six awards, including artist of the year and record of the year for My Kinda Party.
“This is getting a little ridiculous now,” he said after he won his second award. “I don’t know what else to say. It’s been a crazy year.”
In addition to the night’s top two honors, Aldean also won for touring artist of the year, male single of the year for “My Kinda Party,” and vocal collaboration single of the year and music video collaboration of the year for “Don’t You Wanna Stay” featuring Kelly Clarkson.
Carrie Underwood won three, and another American Idol alumn, season 10 winner Scotty McCreery, earned new artist of the year honors.

Monday night at the American Country Awards in Las Vegas, Carrie Underwood collected 3 awards at the event, including Female Artist of the Year, and Music Video and Single of the Year by a Female Artist for “Mama’s Song.”
These kinds of shows are typically another easy win for Taylor Swift, but despite six nominations, she ended the night with no awards.

Jason Aldean has been announced as the leading nominee for the 2011 CMT Music Awards, with a total of four nominations. Meanwhile, The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift and Zac Brown Band earned three nominations apiece. In addition, Kenny Chesney, Sugarland and Carrie Underwood, who each earned two nominations, join all these seven artists in the top category for video of the year.

Las Vegas was filled with country music fans last night for the Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand. Taylor Swift took home the award for Entertainer of The Year and wowed the crowed with her performance of ‘Mean’. Rihanna was a surprise addition to the awards show line up.
