Kanye West 2010 BET Awards Performance Video

Last night at the 2010 BET Awards, Kanye West made his first televised performance since the MTV VMA’s fiasco with Taylor Swift. He performed his new single “Power”.

During the live performance Kanye lit up the stage on top of a giant erupting volcano, with a backdrop of majestic mountain peaks behind him.

Not sure what message Kanye was trying to convey with his performance….it was a little too egotistical for our taste!

BET Awards ’10 Adds Eminem, Alicia Keys, Usher and T Pain To Line Up

Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium is sure to be ablaze on June 27th at the BET AWARDS ’10 due to previously announced performances by Kanye West, Ludacris, TI, Drake, Diddy – Dirty Money, Nicki Minaj, and Rick Ross, to name a few. To further feed this fire, BET AWARDS ’10 is pleased to announce that rapper, producer and actor Eminem will take to the stage on the heels of his June 21 release of “Recovery.” In keeping with the tradition of celebrating the best of the best, platinum-recording artist and BET AWARDS ’10 “Best Female R&B Artist” nominee Alicia Keys as well as R&B superstar Usher, who is nominated for “Best Male R&B Artist,” will also take to the BET AWARDS ’10 stage. Rapper T.I. Added To List Of Performers At BET Awards ’10

MTV Gains Rights To Michael Jackson Documentary

The network that introduced millions to Michael Jackson will air his final performance.

MTV Networks has acquired the exclusive U.S. television rights to the posthumous documentary “Michael Jackson’s This Is It.”

MTV helped boost the singer’s career into the stratosphere during the 1980s by airing Jackson’s music videos.

Sister networks such as VH1, BET and Palladia also will have rights to air the film.

“This Is It” was shot from March to June and includes concert rehearsal and behind-the-scenes footage as Jackson prepared for his planned comeback stand in London.

Chris Brown To Premiere ‘Crawl’ Video This Week

Chris Brown is set to premiere the video to his ballad “Crawl,” the second single from his forthcoming album Graffiti, this Friday during an appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show.” It was also announced on Monday (November 9) that Brown is due to appear on BET’s “106 & Park” this week, and appear and perform on “Good Morning America” next month.

The Joseph Kahn-directed clip for “Crawl” will feature Bad Boy recording artist Cassie as Brown’s love interest. The song’s lyrics seem to address Brown’s situation with Rihanna.

Kahn spoke with MTV News recently and said the video is “probably the most personal thing [Brown's] ever done.”

“I mean, everything that’s happened to him in the year, I think this is going to be his big statement, in terms of what he’s feeling and what he’s living through right now,” he said.

“It’s my first ballad with Chris, and it was easy,” he explained. “Again, it’s another idea that he clearly had, in terms of what the genesis of the idea is. I don’t even know if Chris is trying to say anything with the video. I think he just sort of, as an artist, I think Chris communicates more through what he does … and so what he does in the video will speak for itself.”

Graffiti was pushed up to a December 8 release date last week, and the lead single, “I Can Transform Ya,” currently rests at #24 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

B.E.T. Still Loves Kanye

Kanye may have pissed a lot of people off with his actions at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, but that didn’t stop him from getting 9 nominations for the fourth annual BET Hip-Hop Awards, which will air on October 27th.

Kanye should be thankful for the year he’s had leading up to the VMAs. Hopefully, he’s taking a big bite of the humble pie everyone’s telling him to eat.
