Beyonce was a true triple threat at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin, Germany on Thursday night – she picked up three prizes and led the honors haul.
The R&B superstar claimed trophies for Best Female, Best Song (“Halo”) and Best Video (“Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)”).
She paid tribute to her husband Jay-Z, who was also a big winner in the Best Urban Act category, when she won the Best Video award, thanking him for “putting a ring on it”.
And, unlike at the MTV Video Music Awards in America in September, there was no protest from Kanye West to taint her victory – the rapper stormed the stage at the VMAs, insisting Taylor Swift’s Best Female Video should have gone to Beyonce.
