Canadian singer Avril Lavigne and her boyfriend are recovering after being attacked outside the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Celebrity news website TMZ.com reported that five people attacked Lavigne and “The Hills” star Brody Jenner outside of the iconic Hollywood hotel.

Lavigne, 27, whose hit singles include “Sk8er Boi” and “Girlfriend,” addressed the incident on Twitter.

“I don’t fight. I don’t believe in it. To clear things up I got attacked by 5 people last night out of nowhere. Not cool…” Lavigne posted, adding that she had suffered a black eye, bloody nose, hair ripped out, scratches, bruises and cuts.

“So not ok to be abusive to others. Violence is NEVER the answer,” the singer said.

Jenner, 28, the step-brother of the celebrity Kardashian siblings, also posted about the incident on Twitter, saying “Just got of the hospital with a new scar on my face.”

No arrests have been made, although a spokesman for Los Angeles Police Department told Reuters they were aware of a “skirmish outside in that area on Sunday morning.”

Lavigne’s representatives were not immediately available for comment.

Avril Lavigne continued her ‘Goodbye Lullaby’ promotional tour with a stop at Jimmy Kimmel. Avril performed her lead single off the album ‘What The Hell’ as well as ‘Push.’ I must admit, I’ve been listening to Avril’s new album on repeat. I love it. Although she’s been off the radar for a few years, I guess there’s always a spot for Avril on my playlist.

Avril

I’m just going to throw it out there that I really like Avril Lavigne’s new album Goodbye Lullaby. If you were a fan of Avril’s in the past, you should give this album a good listen. She’s been out of the limelight for a bit, she’s had her personal ups and downs, the press has exploited her privacy and she’s found a way to turn it all into one great album. She’s grown up a lot from her ‘Sk8ter Boi’ days and her music has matured as well. Avril’s always been a great songwriter and continues to craft honest lyrics and catchy, memorable melodies that are easy to pick up on and sing along. This album is definitely worth a listen.

Avril Lavigne is back! Avril released her new single ‘What The Hell’ on New Year’s Eve when she performed on Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve.

‘What The Hell’ is very similar to Avril’s sound on her last album The Best Damn Thing and I’m loving it! For all the haters who were quick to judge Avril’s new single, Avril told everyone that the first single would be a sound that her fans were already familiar with. Smart move considering it’s been a few years since Avril’s had a hit single. But don’t worry, Avril’s reassured everyone the the rest of the album is more mature and acoustic. We’ll have to wait and see when it’s released.

Avril Lavigne Talks New Album In Entertainment Weekly

Avril

Fans of Avril Lavigne are excited for her return to the music scene with the upcoming release of her album Goodbye Lullaby.

Avril opens up to Entertainment Weekly about the direction of her new album and the struggles she’s faced with her record label:

“Yes! The song is more pop and uptempo and kind of reminiscent of my old stuff, and the rest of the record is more stripped and raw and a little deeper. So this album is less pop-rock than the previous stuff, but the first single is a more like that.”

“Yes, somewhat. I’ve been really anxious just to get back out there and to sing and to tour, so I know that the fans were all really waiting, being super supportive, and I really appreciate that. You know a lot of people run into complications with their record companies sometimes where they have their vision, but I’ve always had my own vision for my music and I put my foot down, and you know, had to be strong about that, and overall I made the record that I wanted to make, so I’m very happy with it and very excited to finally be putting it out.”

Avril will be debuting her new single “What The Hell” on Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin Eve Special. “What the Hell” will then be available as a free download on New Years Day for fans who ‘like’ her official Facebook page. Guess we better go “like” her page…

Avril

It looks like things are finally coming together for pop rocker Avril Lavigne’s new album, Goodbye Lullaby. The singer has released the art work for the albums cover and revealed that the album will be released March 8th. The lead single will be a track called ‘What The Hell’ and the music video has already been shot. The single will premiere on New Year’s Eve when Avril performs on Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve TV special.

Check out these new details on Avril’s new ablum, Goodbye Lullaby –

Lavigne continues to share her personal experiences through her writing and music, and Goodbye Lullaby is a further evolution of this, propelled by a more raw and organic sound.

Among its upbeat tracks are “What the Hell,” an unabashed embrace of fun and freedom, and “Stop Standing There,” fueled by an early-‘50s girl-group feel. The album runs the gamut of emotions: Lavigne expresses her gratitude for special people in her life in the rocker “Smile,” explores the dynamics of a relationship in “Push,” shows her vulnerable side in “Wish You Were Here,” and finds the strength to close one chapter of her life and move on to the next in the title track “Goodbye.”

New Details On Avril Lavigne’s Upcoming Album

Avril Lavigne’s been talking about releasing a new album for a while now. The release date seems to change all of the time and Avril recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight Canada and explained why.

“Some people come up to me and say, ‘Oh you haven’t been around in so long’. It’s like, I’m only 25 now; I plan on doing music the rest of my life”.

“It’s been a really long process. I think because I write my own music, It’s important for me to kind of just live my life to get my inspiration. My previous records were more pop-rock and somewhat aggressive and fun, and this [album] is more like, stripped down and raw. I’m a little excited to put something out that’s a little different, without being too different”.

Avril Lavigne Performs ‘Alice’ On Jay Leno

When ‘Alice’ from the Alice and Wonderland soundtrack was released by Avril Lavigne, I was not a fan. I’ve always liked Avril, but this song just didn’t catch my attention and I didn’t understand why the studio would put so much money and effort behind this song. The movie’s already generated a ton of buzz, it’s not like it needed a song from Avril Lavigne to get people to go see it.

After seeing Avril perform ‘Alice’ on the Jay Leno show last night, I’m starting to warm up to the song after all. Maybe it was the stage set up, maybe it was the band, whatever it was, Avril sounded amazing…if she was actually singing live. Check out her performance in this video from NeonLimeLight.com:

I’m excited for Avril’s return to the music scene. Hopefully, this is just a warm up for her.
