In an interview with Q100, Kelly Clarkson revealed that her new album will be out in time for Christmas next year, 2010.
Clarkson says –
“We’re already working on it but it’s probably not going to hit until, like, the fourth quarter of next year — around Christmas next year…There’s still some like singer/songwriter stuff [on the album], but there’s … I don’t know. It’s almost like Garbage-meets-pop-meets-Muse. It’s a little different…I don’t know how it’s going to end up. Who knows?” Kelly Clarkson said. “It always ends up being something completely different.”
Different can be good, as long as it’s not like Clarkson’s ‘My December’ album. In that case, different didn’t quite work out like she had hoped.

Jesse McCartney sat down with MTV to discuss his upcoming album. McCartney is heading back into the studio and says that he hopes to work with Ludacris again on the new album.
McCartney says –
“Yeah, I have some ideas in mind [in terms of collaborations], but those things always come together last-minute. We’re working on a few things,” he told MTV News. “I know that I might work with Ludacris again. That’s maybe a possibility, and he’s great — he’s one of my favorite rappers … and he’s amazing to work with.”
“It’s gonna be kind of a continuation of Departure, but maybe a little more R&B slightly. You’ll get the chance to hear what’s going on in my head right now and a little … more personal.”
“It’s a little bit more raw,” he explained. “But still rhythmic and upbeat. It’s still soulful. I’m still kind of writing it all out. I don’t want to give too much away.”

According to The Prophet Blog, Nelly Furtado is set to release her fourth English album on May 25th, 2010.
Furtado says:
“I think just generally it’s still going to be pop but I want it to have a more light energy. Sort of like my first album, but not sonically, more in a spiritual sense… more like my first album.
“I don’t know if it’s going to be the same sound [as Loose] but I have worked a little bit with Timbaland who produced that album so it might have some of the same fun and energy, but not like exactly the same.”
Furtado is also said to be working with Ryan Tedder and Salaam Remi on the new album.

Chris Brown Deletes Twitter Account and Billboard Calls His Bluff

After Chris Brown called out retailers on his personal Twitter account for trying to hurt his album sells by not properly stocking his album in stores, Billboard has called his bluff. Chris just can’t seem to handle the fact that no one cares about his music anymore, at least not like they used to after he beat ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
According to Billboard –
A survey and store visits have found that Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Trans World, Newbury Comics are all carrying the Brown record and sources say that his album received widespread distribution and promotion by his label, Jive Records, and his distributor, Sony Music Entertainment.Jive shipped over 400,000 units of “Graffiti,” and also had it positioned in prime stores space at all key accounts, according to sources. In fact, sources suggest that Jive may have overshipped his record, as sales are slow.
“Not only am I carrying it, I am over carrying it, because it isn’t selling,” says the head of purchasing at one large chain. “I wish I could return it.” He says the album’s first week sales only reached 40% of expectations. At 27-unit Newbury Comics, Carl Mello head of purchasing, echoes that sentiment. “We have it; it’s not selling much.”
“We never considered not bringing it in,” Mello says. “If we stopped bringing in records from every unsavory character that puts out an album, there would be tumbleweed floating around our stores.”
And so far, consumers aren’t flocking to stores to vote on behalf of Brown. Sources project that Brown sold about 100,000 units last week, well below the 150,000-175,000 units he was expected to sell. Mello says that the album is probably about the No. 40 best-selling title at the chain.
Interesting, huh?
Brown has since deleted his Twitter account, which is probably a good thing because he was headed down a path of self-destruction and broadcasting it to the world.
Adele Collaborates With OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder

After the success of her Grammy award winning debut album 19, Adele has enlisted the help of OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder for her follow-up album.
It seems like just about everyone is working with Tedder these days. After the recent controversy surrounding the similarities of certain tracks given to artists by Tedder, fans are concerned that Adele’s new album will have Tedder’s style all over it, but Tedder has gone on the record to assure fans they have nothing to worry about.
Tedder says –
“19, that album was so absolutely mind-blowing to me, so simple and beautiful that I don’t want myself as a fan to interfere with her sound.
“Yesterday the song we did was very much Adele – it was 10% Ryan, 90% Adele.”
He says he told the singer: “I don’t want to put you through the Ryan Tedder machine where you end up with a song that sounds as much like Ryan Tedder as it does Adele.”

During a recent interview, Jesse McCartney said that he’s been writing a lot and just sent a number of tracks over to former Idol winner Jordin Sparks. Could it be that Jordin is already working on her third studio album?
It seems like yesterday that she released Battlefield. It was a solid pop album, but didn’t sell as well as insiders had hoped.
Should Jordin take a new approach on her next album or stick to the pop tunes?
Chris Brown Not Happy With Music Biz

Some people just can’t handle karma when it comes back and smacks them in the face.
Chris Brown is not happy with his lackluster album sales and reports from fans that stores weren’t stocking his album properly in an attempt to sabotage his sales, so he took to his official Twitter account to blast the music industry.
Brown tweeted:
“im tired of this shit. major stores r blackballing my cd. not stockin the shelves and lying to costumers. what the fuck do i gotta do…
WTF… yeah i said it and i aint retracting shit. im not biting my tongue about shit else… the industry can kiss my ass.
thx again to my real fans. u dont go unnoticed .love yall”
Brown and his last few fans can blame whoever they want, but the truth is his image is tarnished and consumers aren’t willing to spend their hard earned money on a wife-beater.
