Rapper 50 Cent has apologized for comments suggesting Kanye West and Lady Gaga’s now defunct tour was for gay people – insisting he didn’t mean to cause any offense.
The In Da Club hit-maker took aim at West over his plans to tour with the Poker Face singer, telling New York radio host Angie Martinez that the hip-hop star targets the gay community to sell records.
He quipped, “I have nothing against them, but he’s cool with them. He goes, drops his video off to them. Remember 808s & Heartbreak? Where’d he premiere it? Ellen Degeneres. He went there to premiere his video. He’s conscious of the gay community and wants them to buy his CDs.”
50 Cent added that West and Gaga’s Fame Kills tour, which was cancelled without explanation on Thursday, was the “gay tour.” However, after gay rights groups slammed the comments as homophobic, the rapper has taken to his website to insist his words were taken out of context.
He says, “During an interview with Angie Martinez yesterday, certain comments I made were taken entirely out of context. When I referred to the Lady Gaga tour as ‘the gay tour,’ I was basically repeating what I thought she had referred to the tour in the past. It was not my intention to offend anyone. I don’t have a problem with anyone’s lifestyle and have no issue with Lady Gaga. She makes great music.”
It was not known why the Fame Kills tour was scrapped as WENN went to press.
Oh 50……..
50 Cent Says Next Album Will Be Huge

50 Cent says that his upcoming album “Before I Self Destruct” could make more of an impact than his debut, Get Rich or Die Tryin’.
The New York-born rapper is confident the break since his last album has paid off and that he’s hoping for great things.
“I had more time to work on this record. I usually put an album out every two years, so this is almost an additional year. This record could potentially be the one to top Get Rich or Die Tryin’. I think it could impact as hard, but not necessarily sell as much.”
He also admitted the timing of the release was him “being smart enough not to come down the track while the Eminem train is coming”.
Let’s hope that the Eminem train passed through town before 50′s train departs!

50 Cent to play some shows with Fall Out Boy this month!
“He (50 cent) came up with the idea, and we were like, ‘Yeah. Totally. Yeah. Why not?,” frontman Patrick Stump said. “He had been talking for a while about doing something together. We definitely like hip-hop a lot, and I think a lot of people know that at this point. We’ve toured with Paul Wall. We’ve had Lil Wayne on our record. I worked with Gym Class Heroes extensively. So I think it works. I’m excited to see how it goes because it will certainly add something to the tour in a different way that I think is worth seeing. I think it should be interesting.”
50 Cent will be performing five shows with Fall Out Boy, starting April 14 at the Fillmore in Denver. Stump said there are no plans yet to collaborate on stage…..but you never know. 50′s newest album, “Before I Self Destruct,” is due in June.
