Nick Lachey has confirmed that former boy band 98 degress will not be hitting the road for a summer tour this year.

A report by Rumorfix picked up traction from several outlets in late March after the band’s formerly stagnant website reportedly posted an update regarding a 15-city reunion tour. At the time, band member Jeff Timmons tweeted: “Look, you can never believe rumors, but I’d be open to it for sure!”

Lachey ended those rumors on Thursday, tweeting that he was “So psyched to see all the excitement for a 98 degree tour, but the only tour I’ll be doing this summer is at baby’s ‘r us!” The singer does appear to be open to the idea in the future, adding the hashtag “#neversaynever.”

98 Degrees is best known for their pop hits “Because of You,” “The Hardest Thing” and “Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche).” The group released five albums, including one holiday disc, between 1996 and 2002. The band has yet to reunite over the past 10 years, but all have pursued additional projects.

Pink Friday Roman Reloaded

Nicki Minaj scores her second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 as “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” debuts atop the list with 253,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

“Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” is not a reissue of the original “Pink Friday” album — despite its confusing title. It’s an all-new release, led by its official first single “Starships.” The track has already sailed to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The album that “Roman Reloaded” replaces, Madonna’s “MDNA,” falls to No. 8 with 48,000 (down 86.7%) It debuted at No. 1 last week with 359,000. Its steep drop is the largest second-week percentage decline for a No. 1-debuting album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991.

It surpasses the record set by Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” when it fell 84.27% in its second week on the chart dated June 18, 2011. “Born This Way” bowed the previous frame at No. 1 with 1.11 million, and then sold 174,000 in its second week at the top of the chart.

Justin Bieber will win an award at the 11th Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, organizers announced this week.

The Tribeca Film Institute’s annual Interactive Day will take place on Monday, April 23. Designed as a day to explore what TFF calls “the digital media ecosystem,” it will feature a keynote address from Baratunde Thurston, director of digital for The Onion, and an interactive case study in the transmedia rollout of HBO’s series “Game of Thrones.”

The awards, which are designed “to highlight successful disruptive innovation in non-traditional, identity-based domains,” will include Lifetime Achievement Awards to Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter and Square, and John Wood, the founder of Room to Read.

Justin Bieber, who the TFF press release identifies as a “Global Superstar,” will receive an award with his manager, Scooter Braun, for the YouTube discovery and phenomenal success of a career that TFF says “disrupted the traditional gatekeepers of the music industry.” Bieber is expected to appear to collect his award.

The Tribeca Film Festival begins on April 18 and runs through April 29 in Lower Manhattan.

One Direction Being Sued By Band With Same Name

British boy band One Direction has been sued for trademark infringement because it is using the same name as a small California pop-rock group.

The California band says it is entitled to three times the profits made by their rivals, as well as compensatory damages in excess of $1 million.

The northern California band has been using the name One Direction since late 2009 and has recorded two albums, the lawsuit states. It filed an application to register the trademark name in the United States in February 2011.

The British band, made up of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles placed third on “The X Factor” and went on to top the U.K. charts with their first single.

The five man California band has a much lower profile. Led by singer and pianist Sean O’Leary, its members began making music at school and the group has played at local fairs and bars, according to their website.

The lawsuit said the continued use by both bands of the same name was causing “substantial confusion and substantial damage” to the goodwill earned by the California group.

In an online video Q&A with her fans, Selena Gomez opened up about her edgier movie roles, including her next film with Ethan Hawke.

“I’m doing another movie called ‘The Getaway’ with Ethan Hawke. It’s really, really exciting,” she shared. “I go to Bulgaria and then I start filming. It’s more of an action movie, which is also different. So we’re doing that and then hopefully another movie, but that hasn’t really been confirmed yet. Then I’ll start working on my fourth album, which will be the best album I’ll ever do! But I’m just kind of halting music for a bit.”

She added that she’s “been really focused on more acting. For me it’s been fun to take risks and do things that are completely different. To be honest maybe some of you guys might not be comfortable with it. … I’m still the same person. Things that challenge me really excite me.”

Selena Gomez will also get the small-screen treatment on “Glee.” According to E! News, in the prom episode, shot last week, Lea Michele reportedly sings Selena’s track “Love You Like a Love Song.”

The final autopsy reports for late singer Whitney Houston have been confirmed and announced. The official cause of Whitney Houston’s death was recently announced as accidental drowning, and the L.A. County coroner released its final report Wednesday (April 4) that provides new details about Houston’s condition when authorities arrived on the scene at the Beverly Hilton on February 11.

According to the report obtained by People and E! Online, Houston complained of a sore throat so she decided to take a bath before getting ready for Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party.

When Houston’s assistant returned to the hotel room after running an errand, the singer was face down in the bathtub in 13 inches of “extremely hot” water, which caused a burn on Houston’s back. When police arrived on the scene, they found an open bottle of champagne, bottles of prescription drugs and loose pills scattered about the room. In the bathroom, they found an ashtray with several cigarette butts and a small spoon with a “white crystal like substance in it and a rolled up piece of white paper.” The report also states that the white substance was found on a small mirror.

Kristy McCracken of the Beverly Hills Police Department wrote in her final report that she reasoned Houston “possibly overdosed on a narcotic substance, prescription medications, over the counter medications and alcohol” and noted a “bloody purge” coming out of Houston’s nose, as well as minor abrasions on her face, arms and legs.

Aside from the traces of cocaine, Benadryl, the muscle relaxer Flexeril, marijuana and Xanax found in the toxicology screening, the report cited Houston’s body as being “well built, muscular and fairly well nourished.”
