Janet Jackson Is To Tour in The US and Canada!

Pop star, Janet Jackson, is bringing her Number Ones, Up Close and Personal tour to the U.S. and Canada this spring.
The tour will kick off March 7-8 with a two-night stand in Las Vegas and wraps with another pair of shows April 22-23 in Las Vegas.
The setlist will be made up off all the hits that make up Jackson’s 2009 compilation, “Number Ones.”
“These concerts will be different from anything I have ever done. I will be as up close and personal as possible,” Jackson said in a statement.
“These concerts are not about special effects. This is a love affair between me and those of you who have supported me and my work for all these years. I’ll be singing and dancing from my heart. The music will all be songs that you’ve made number ones for me. Let’s go!
Jackson is also slated to release “True You,” a book reflecting on her experience with diet and exercise, on February 8.

Lauryn Hill To Perform On A Rooftop On New Year’s Eve

Former Fugees singer, Lauryn Hill, is to give a rare concert on the rooftop of New York’s Gansevoort Park Avenue Hotel on New Year’s Eve.
Although it will be a very exclusive, and intimate show, organizers are said to be working on a deal for the performance to be televised or streamed online. We are sure we are not the only ones that would love to see this!
Lauryn is reportedly working on a new album, her first studio LP since 1998′s ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’. Hill recently revealed she changes the arrangements on some of her classic songs at her gigs because she wants to keep them fresh, but accepts her fans may not appreciate her efforts.
The ‘Everything Is Everything’ hitmaker said: “I have to upgrade them a bit so that they’re still exciting and fresh and they’re new. There’s something almost jazz-like in the way I approach performances. I’m not sure if the audience really understands. We need, or at least I need a certain amount of spontaneity, a certain amount of improvisation every show.”
Let’s hope that Lauryn Hill has a huge comeback in 2011!
New Kids, Backstreet Boys, To Perform On Dick Clark’s Annual New Year’s Eve TV Special.

The New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys are performing in Dick Clark’s annual New Year’s Eve TV special.
ABC producers say the two groups are mashing up to close out 2011 on the ABC special.
The two bands, who have come together to become NKOTBSB, performed together live for the first time on the Dick Clark-produced American Music Awards last month. The two groups plan to tour North America together next summer.
“The NKOTBSB just keeps snowballing … and nothing is as exciting as Times Square’s New Year’s countdown,” the Backstreet Boys said Thursday.
“The excitement of this is just a glimpse of what our upcoming tour will be,” the five members of New Kids on the Block added.
“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2011,” begins at 10 p.m. EST on Dec. 31 and ends around 2 a.m. on Jan. 1.

MUSE @ The Staples Center!

If you haven’t purchased tickets to tonight’s Muse concert at the Staples Center….you have but a few hours so get on it. Seats are still available and the show, which is undoubtedly worth every farthing, is rock at its finest.
For me, last night’s unforgettable performance was an event five months in the making.
Rewind to April 17, 2010, and journey with me to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. After spending nearly seven hours in the blistering desert heat, deprived of water and food (after all, there was no way I was abandoning my prized front-row pit position once I had secured it), I watched three British musicians captivate tens of thousands of music enthusiasts with unparalleled energy, stunning visual effects, and just straight-up bad assness. Cured from my fatigue, dehydration, and starvation, I became Muse’s newest convert. Upon my return to a reality devoid of frontman Matthew Bellamy in skin-tight red trousers, I began scouring the internet for any sign of an upcoming live performance.
Thank you, KROQ.
Within a week of the festival’s completion, the esteemed radio station announced that my beloved alternative rock group would grace L.A. fans’ with its presence. Tickets were bought immediately and the countdown, full of gleeful anticipation, commenced.
