Avril Lavigne Performs ‘Alice’ On Jay Leno

When ‘Alice’ from the Alice and Wonderland soundtrack was released by Avril Lavigne, I was not a fan. I’ve always liked Avril, but this song just didn’t catch my attention and I didn’t understand why the studio would put so much money and effort behind this song. The movie’s already generated a ton of buzz, it’s not like it needed a song from Avril Lavigne to get people to go see it.
After seeing Avril perform ‘Alice’ on the Jay Leno show last night, I’m starting to warm up to the song after all. Maybe it was the stage set up, maybe it was the band, whatever it was, Avril sounded amazing…if she was actually singing live. Check out her performance in this video from NeonLimeLight.com:
I’m excited for Avril’s return to the music scene. Hopefully, this is just a warm up for her.

It’s a little of a different sound for her. It’s more of a country song than some of Taylor Swifts songs.Thoughts???

Taylor Swift’s new single ‘Today Was A Fairytale’ off the soundtrack to her acting debut film Valentine’s Day has set a new record for the highest opening-week downloads by a female artist in the history of Nielsen SoundScan. ‘Today Was A Fairytale’ debuted at No. 1 on the Hot Digital Songs chart with 325,000 downloads, breaking the former record by 39,000 downloads which was set by Britney Spears’ ‘Womanizer’ in 2008.
Swift’s new single also debuted at No. 2 on the Hot 100 chart, coming in second to Ke$ha’s ‘Tik Tok’ which tops the chart for the sixth week in a row.
Congratulations.
New Single From Avril Lavigne Coming Soon

Avril Lavigne’s long awaited new single ‘Alice Underground’ from the soundtrack to Tim Burton’s remake Alice In Wonderland will be released in March.
It is not clear if the song will double as her first official single off her forthcoming album, or if it will simply be on the film’s soundtrack.
Early reports claim that Lavigne’s new album will be a return to her more acoustic sound and less of the over-produced sound as heard on ‘Girlfriend’.

Avatar is one of the most talked about films this holiday season and Leona Lewis has recorded ‘I See You’ for the movie’s soundtrack. Lewis channels her inner Celine Dion in what is truly a magical song and reminiscent of Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On’ from Titanic. ‘I See You’ has been nominated in the Best Original Song/Motion Picture category.

Stars Came Out For The “This Is It” Premiere In Los Angeles

Los Angeles came to a standstill last night as Hollywood A-listers joined the Jackson brothers for the premiere of the King of Pop’s concert rehearsal movie This Is It.
The L.A. launch of the tour documentary – featuring Michael Jackson’s final stage performances before his death in June – coincided with the worldwide release of the film, which premiered across 15 cities including London; Seoul, South Korea; Johannesburg, South Africa; Rio De Janeiro, Brazil; and Berlin, Germany.
The superstar’s brothers Jermaine, Tito, Jackie and Marlon walked the red carpet alongside Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry and Paris Hilton. Jermaine Jackson promised fans they’d be blown away – but urged people to remember the footage was shot during rehearsals and not a full-blown performance.
He explained, “You are going to see preparations for what would have been one of the greatest shows ever. You are going to see him going through the motions, not giving 100 percent.”
Jackson’s mother Katherine and his three children were believed to have watched a private showing of the film at a screening at Sony Studios on the same night.

Michael Bublé remains in the top spot this week on the Billboard 200 chart for the second week in a row. Bublé’s album Crazy sold 203,000 copies this week, its first full week in stores, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
This marks Bublé’s second-best sales week ever. His best week came when “Call Me Irresponsible” started with 213,000 in 2007.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack comes in at No. 2 with 115,000 copies. The soundtrack’s release date was moved up in order to combat leaks. It may rise to the No.1 spot next week if it can stay ahead of Tim McGraw’s new album Southern Voice.
New Video: Adam Lambert ‘Time For Miracles’

Adam Lambert’s highly anticipated music video for ‘Time For Miracles’ from the upcoming film 2012 has been released exclusively on Myspace today.
Everytime I hear this song, I can’t help but be reminded of Aerosmith’s ‘Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’ from the soundtrack to Armageddon, a rock ballad set to the end of the Earth. It appears as though they were trying to recreate that same effect with ‘Time For Miracles’. I don’t think this song is as strong as ‘Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’, but it gets the job done and is a good debut for Lambert.
