Susan Boyle shoots to top of UK album chart

Scottish singer Susan Boyle, a worldwide sensation since appearing on a TV talent show in 2009, shot straight to the top of the British chart on Sunday with her new album, “Someone to Watch Over Me,” the Officials Charts Company said.

Boyle, notching up her third No. 1 album in a row, has sold some 14 million albums worldwide and has been No. 1in 30 countries.

Cher Lloyd, 18, an “X Factor” finalist last year, saw her debut album, “Sticks and Stones,” enter the chart at No. 4, while The Wanted took the No. 5 slot with their second album, “Battleground.”

Barbados-born R&B singer Rihanna topped the singles chart with “We Found Love,” featuring Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris. The single bounced back to the top from last week’s No. 2 and has now spent four weeks at No. 1.

Boy band JLS was the highest new entry in the singles chart, at No. 2 with “Take a Chance on Me,” the second single from the forthcoming album “Jukebox.”

If you thought you’d seen it all on the Justin Bieber merchandise out there, you were wrong.

The pop superstar has cornered a previously uncharted market with the launch of his very own SINGING toothbrushes.

The electric scrubbers will come in two designs – one plays Biebs’ hit tunes Baby and U Smile, while the other blasts out Somebody To Love and Love Me.

Each song lasts two minutes – the recommended length of time for a teeth-brushing session.

The personal hygiene appliances from Ashtel Dental will launch on July 1.

Other Bieber-themed oral care products by the company include an adult toothbrush, floss and travel kit – which includes a mini hourglass timer and a tongue scraper.

OMG Justin Bieber Cut His Hair!!! (PHOTO)

Yes, it is true people, Justin Bieber has cut his hair! The pop superstar underwent a little bit of grooming earlier today on the set of “That Should Be Me,” his new music video featuring country trio Rascal Flatts.

Earlier today Justin posted, “thinking about getting a haircut….hmmmmmm,” on his Twitter page before returning a few hours later to let fans know that he had actually followed up with his plans.

Bieber says he’ll give away the clipped locks to raise money for charity.

“Yeah so it’s true…i got a lil haircut…i like it…and we are giving all the hair cut to CHARITY to auction. Details coming soon,” he writes.

Bieber told TMZ.com that he was nervous about the haircut, but he wanted mature his look and he “wanted to changed it up.”

Jimmy Buffett Falls Off Stage In Australia

Singer Jimmy Buffett fell off a stage at the end of a concert in Sydney and was rushed to the hospital.

Someone had to have shot video footage of this?

Australia’s Daily Telegraph reports that audience members saw the 64-year-old fall face first off the stage and hit his head.

Buffett’s manager then took the stage and urged fans to leave the auditorium, the Hordem Pavillion.

The singer was brought to Sydney’s St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Wednesday night’s concert was Buffett’s fifth and last in Sydney on his current tour.

Katy Perry Rules The Singles Chart Again…..

Katy Perry’s latest hit is ruling the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart marked a second consecutive week at No. 1.

The last song to spend successive frames at the top of the Hot 100 was “Like a G6,” by Far*East Movement in late-October.

One of those former No. 1s, “What’s My Name?” by Rihanna featuring Drake, was also angling for a second shot at glory by rising one place to No. 2 on the heels of strong radio airplay. The R&B starlet held at No. 6 with “Only Girl (In the World).”

Bruno Mars moved two places to No. 3 with “Grenade.” His former No. 1, “Just the Way You Are,” held at No. 7. Pink’s “Raise Your Glass” dropped two to No. 4, while Ke$ha’s “We R Who We R” inched it’s way to No. 5.

“The Time (Dirty Bit)” by The Black Eyed Peas slid four places to No. 8, Nelly’s “Just a Dream” remained steady at No. 9, and “Bottoms Up” by Trey Songz featuring Nicki Minaj held at No. 10.

Jailed rapper T.I. claimed the top debut as “That’s All She Wrote” came in at No. 18. The tune comes from his new album “No Mercy,” which debuted at a disappointing No. 4 on the Billboard 200 on Wednesday.

Katy Perry made a lot of Australian teens happy when she crashed their high school prom in Melbourne.

Perry came in singing along to Beyoncé’s hit ‘Single Ladies’ and even tried bust out a few of the dance moves from the video.

Sky Ferreira was launched in the UK with the ice-cool ‘One‘, but in her native America the label decided to go with the less edgy ‘Obsession‘. Explains Sky:

I mean, I like ‘Obsession’ – it’s a really good pop song, but it’s extremely pop. That wasn’t exactly what my goal was… But I’m glad that ‘One’ came out before that so people know that I can still do other stuff. I wanna be capable of doing all different types of music…

‘Obsession’ was written by Ryan Tedder and will be released later this year, with her debut album slated for release on January 11th 2011

Kings Of Leon Cancel Show After Band Was Hit By Pigeon Feces

Kings Of Leon were in for quite a disgusting surprise when they took the stage at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis this weekend. The Amphitheater was pigeon infestation above the stage and the band was pooped on as soon as they started playing.

“Jared [Followill, the band's bassist] was hit several times during the first two songs,” said Andy Mendelsohn of Vector Management. “It’s not only disgusting – it’s a toxic health hazard. They really tried to hang in there.”

Reports claim that poop even landed in the singer’s mouth while he was singing!

Followill said, “I was hit by pigeons on each of the first three songs. We had 20 songs on the set list. By the end of the show, I would have been covered from head to toe. The last thing I was going to do was look up, but if that was only a couple, we must have caught them right after a big Thanksgiving dinner.”
