Seal and Heidi Announce Their Split

Seal and Heidi Klum have announced that their 7 year marriage is ending.

In a statement Sunday night, the power couple announced their separation after rumors swirled over the weekend that a divorce was imminent.

“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul searching we have decided to separate,” the joint statement read. “We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”

The couple married in 2005 and has four children together, including the supermodel’s daughter from a previous relationship.

They were one of Hollywood’s most high-profile couples, and seemed to have the relationship everyone should envy. They two starred together in the music video “Secret,” they renewed their wedding vows each anniversary, boasted of their love in the media, and threw Halloween bashes together where they dressed in outrageous outfits, most recently last year in New York City, where the two engaged in their typical public display of affection for the cameras.

TMZ first reported on Saturday that the two planned to divorce.

Zooey Deschanel Files for Divorce

Singer and actress Zooey Deschanel filed for divorce from Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard on Dec. 27, according to People.

The magazine reported that the She & Him singer and “New Girl” actress cited irreconcilable differences in her court papers, noting the date of separation as Oct. 31.

Billboard.com confirmed the indie-rock split in November, less than a week after She & Him’s first Christmas album arrived in stores. Deschanel later told People, “We’re friendly. It’s all fine.”

The pair tied the knot in 2009.

After news of Katy Perry and Russell Brand divorcing, questions have been stirring as to whether or not there is a prenup and if not, who would walk away with more money.

According to Russell Brand, there was no prenup in this marriage.

According to Forbes, Katy Perry made roughly $45 million during the 14-month marriage.

Brand, meanwhile, made much less. Estimates are that he made between $6 and $8 million

California laws probably apply to their marriage. Which means that Brand is entitled to half of what Perry made from work done while married: perhaps half of $45 million.

Also, the couple may want to keep the details of their divorce a secret, which would be easy to do with a $22.5 million payday for Russell.

Russell Brand May See $20 Million of Katy Perry’s Worth if No Prenup

Russell Brand told New York Magazine last year that the couple did not sign a pre-nup, which could mean he’s entitled to half of Perry’s estimated $44 million net worth.

According to California law, the couple — who wed there in October 2010 — must split their earnings 50/50.

That could potentially score Brand at least $20 million. According to Forbes, the 27-year-old “Fireworks” singer is worth at least $44 million, but some reports suggest it could be more.

Brand is reportedly estimated to be worth around $15 million.

The couple, who surprised fans when they announced Friday they were getting divorced, had spent Christmas apart amid rumors of relentless fighting.

Brand submitted the divorce papers in Los Angeles, reportedly at the request of Perry, who did not want to upset her religious parents.

The superstar couple wed last October, and have been fighting off rumors of marital problems in the past few months. Earlier this month, the British comedian debunked reports about any problems in their marriage on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Despite the sad turn of events, Brand appears to be trying to stay positive. “I’m doing good. Everything is going to be better next year,” he told London’s Daily Star.

Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels have called it quits after being together for over nine years. The pair staged a commitment ceremony in 2003, and planned to make their union official after authorities in California gave homosexual couples the right to wed in 2008. However just a few months after the rights were given to the famous lesbian couple, the ruling was overturned and they missed the chance to be legally wed.

A representative for Etheridge tells People.com, “Melissa and Tammy Etheridge are saddened to announce that they are now separated,” while a statement from the former couple adds, “We ask for consideration and respect for our family as we go through this difficult period.”

Tammy Lynn Michaels gave birth to the couple’s twins that were conceived via an anonymous sperm donor in 2006, daughter Johnnie, and son Miller. Melissa Etheridge also had two children with her previous partner Julie Cypher, Bailey, 13, and Beckett who is 11.

50 Cent said that Paul McCartney didn’t know who he was when he asked Paul for an autograph. Even though McCartney didn’t know who the rapper was he signed an autograph for him. 50 is so pleased that he included McCartney one of his new songs, titled “Do you think about me?” However I don’t know if McCartney will like what he hears….

50 Cent rhymes, “It’s like Paul McCartney stuck in my head/fell in love with a b-tch walked away with one leg/she ain’t even have to run to get away with the bread/that’s some f–ked up sh-t/think about that kid.”

The lyric references McCartney’s divorce from the one-legged Heather Mills.

Jennifer Lopez Sues Ex-Husband For $10 Million

Jennifer Lopez has turned up the heat on her ex-husband’s plans to release a satirical documentary about their short-lived marriage – she is suing him for $10 million in damages.

Ojani Noa, who was married to the actress/singer between 1997 and 1998, is preparing a documentary, entitled How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The J.Lo and Ojani Noa Story.

Due to a legally-binding settlement in which Noa agreed not to release any information about the former couple’s time as husband and wife, Lopez’s legal team issued a cease-and-desist missive demanding that he scrap all his plans for the film.

However, Noa has laughed off the threats, insisting his movie is “100 per cent parody” and therefore does not breach the agreement the pair made in 2005.

Nevertheless, Lopez doesn’t find the situation amusing, and after hearing home movie footage from the pair’s honeymoon would feature in the satire, she filed suit at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday claiming the terms of their settlement have been broken.

Lopez is demanding a permanent ban on Noa releasing any footage of her, and wants a whopping $10 million in damages.

Whitney Houston married her ex-husband Bobby Brown to end speculation about her sexuality, according to her former partner.

Prior to her troubled marriage to the singer, rumors spread that Houston was in a relationship with her female assistant, Robin Crawford.

Brown, who divorced Houston in 2007, claims the “I Will Always Love You” hitmaker wanted to get married and have children so the media would stop speculating about her sex life.

In his new tell-all book, “Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But…,” Brown writes, “(The marriage) was doomed from the very beginning… I think we got married for all the wrong reasons. Now, I realize Whitney had a different agenda than I did when we got married…I believe her agenda was to clean up her image, while mine was to be loved and have children.

“The media was accusing her of having a bisexual relationship with her assistant, Robin Crawford. Since she was the American Sweetheart and all, that didn’t go too well with her image…In Whitney’s situation, the only solution was to get married and have kids. That would kill all speculation, whether it was true or not.”

Avril Lavigne Files For Divorce From Deryck Whibley

Avril Lavigne has filed for divorce from rocker Deryck Whibley.

Avril announced her separation – but not a divorce – from the rocker on her website last month.

“Deryck and I have been together for 6 and a half years. We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. The estranged couple has no children and Avril has asked that Deryck not receive spousal support.
