Kanye West Joins Twitter

With the release of a new album approaching, Kanye West is making sure he’s up to date with the social networking sites.

He joined Twitter on Wednesday, one day after going to the offices of Facebook, in Palo Alto, Calif., to preview some of his new material. He already has over 220,000 followers but he himself is not following anyone.

Videos of him rapping a cappella while standing on a conference table have been posted on YouTube. On his website afterward, West posted a letter to Facebook, thanking the staff for their support: “Your energy was a gift so electric, so genuine, that it really helped me give my best.”

The “Love Lockdown” star has already disseminated new information on his upcoming projects via the service. West tweeted that his upcoming fifth studio album is no longer called “Good A–Job” and that he’s “bouncing a couple titles around now.” West’s new as-of-yet untitled album is expected to be released Sept. 14.

Could Jessica Simpson Be The New Idol Judge?

Rumors were flying yesterday claiming that Jessica Simpson is in talks with American Idol producers to be the new judge on the upcoming season of the show. According to Entertainment Weekly and TMZ, Simpson has met with Idol producers, but she is one of many people being considered for the job and no official announcement has been made.

Would Jessica make a good judge on Idol? She hasn’t done anything significant in music in years! Then again, neither had Paula Abdul and Ellen…well, Ellen hasn’t done anything at all. It’s just a TV show after all.

Robyn “Hang With Me” Music Video

Swedish Pop Star Robyn, just released the music video for her lead single, “Hang With Me” from Body Talk Pt.2.

Robyn is always entertaining and in this music video she gives us a glimpse into her world and she shows us what it would be like to hang with her.

Making the video’s presence more appreciated is that it’s also an expertly pulled off tour-life montage: a scrappy, charming hodgepodge of bus, show, fans, studio, hotel hallways, photo shoots, day-off roller-coaster rides, makeup applications, and loads of Robyn’s wry smiles.

Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam Soundtrack To Be Released August 10th

No. 1 selling recording artist Demi Lovato and the multi-platinum-selling artists, the Jonas Brothers are featured on the soundtrack of the summer–Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam–set to rock into stores and online retailers on Tuesday, August 10th. Natasha Bedingfield “Touch” music video

British pop star Natasha Bedingfield has premiered the official music video for her new single “Touch”. The clip was directed by Rich Lee (Eminem “Not Afraid”, Fergie “Clumsy”, Black Eyed Peas “Imma Be/Rock That Body”), although “Touch” isn’t very similar to his other pieces of work.

Although Natasha is huge in the U.K. she is one of the few British artists to actually have done well in the American market, racking up huge hits stateside like “Unwritten”, “Pocketful of Sunshine” and “Love Like This.”

The song still hasn’t charted despite being out since May, and has already received some heavy promotion with performances on Ellen and So You Think You Can Dance. Her new album Strip Me will be released towards the end of the year.

Wyclef Jean To Run For President Of Haiti?

Could it be true that Wyclef Jean is planning to run for President of Haiti? The Haitian born musician says that reports claiming he announced his run for the Presidency are false, but many believe the rumors are not so farfetched.

Wyclef has been actively involved with Haiti as a philanthropist long before the devastating earthquake in Port-au-Prince in January. His foundation, Yéle Haiti, released the following statement:

“Wyclef’s commitment to his homeland and its youth is boundless, and he will remain its greatest supporter regardless of whether he is part of the government moving forward. At this time, Wyclef Jean has not announced his intent to run for Haitian president. If and when a decision is made, media will be alerted immediately.”

Season 2 Of Glee Secrets revealed at Comic-Con

The Comic-Con convention in San Diego, California, is not only a place for superhero geeks, but Gleeks as well!

On Sunday, Fox hosted a panel for the show with creator Ryan Murphy and the cast taking questions.

Apparently, Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch weren’t present according to Vulture.

Check out some of the secrets from Season 2 that the cast revealed to the crowd:

–There will be a “Rocky Horror Picture Show” themed episode. It’s possible that Chris Colfer will get to croon “Let’s do the Time Warp again.”

–Fan favorites Santana and Brittany may be kissing in an upcoming episode.

–The Britney Spears-themed episode will be “hallucinogenic”

–Tina will dump handicapped Artie for dancing sensation Mike Chang.

–Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth will return

Kings Of Leon Cancel Show After Band Was Hit By Pigeon Feces

Kings Of Leon were in for quite a disgusting surprise when they took the stage at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis this weekend. The Amphitheater was pigeon infestation above the stage and the band was pooped on as soon as they started playing.

“Jared [Followill, the band's bassist] was hit several times during the first two songs,” said Andy Mendelsohn of Vector Management. “It’s not only disgusting – it’s a toxic health hazard. They really tried to hang in there.”

Reports claim that poop even landed in the singer’s mouth while he was singing!

Followill said, “I was hit by pigeons on each of the first three songs. We had 20 songs on the set list. By the end of the show, I would have been covered from head to toe. The last thing I was going to do was look up, but if that was only a couple, we must have caught them right after a big Thanksgiving dinner.”

Leona Lewis Calls Of Tour Plans Because Of Her Broken Heart

Leona Lewis has reportedly called off plans to tour Asia, Australia, and Europe to recover from a broken heart after splitting up from her longtime boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa.

The “Bleeding Love” hitmaker is said to be struggling to cope since parting ways with her childhood sweetheart last month. She has decided that right now she needs to focus on healing.

A source tells Britain’s Sunday Mirror, “Leona’s heart just wasn’t in the tour towards the end of the U.K. leg. She was upset, teary and heartbroken over her split with Lou.

“She’d been with him for 10 years. This was the love of her life. The last thing she wanted was to be on the road away from a support network of friends and family. She wasn’t up for it emotionally.”

All this heartbreak will make for some really great music! That’s something positive out of all of this, I guess!

The source went on to say: “She’s full of ideas. She’s got a new lease of life in songwriting. She’s putting her heartbreak into her music.”
