This year wouldn’t mean anything without a brand new album from Alicia Keys and on December 1, the 12-time Grammy Award winner will release “The Element of Freedom”, her fourth studio album on MBK/J Records.

Keys’ first single, “Doesn’t Mean Anything,” was written and produced by Alicia and her longtime production partner Kerry “Krucial” Brothers. The moment the single impacted radio on September 21st, critics declared it an instant hit: “Alicia Keys Is Back” proclaimed NYPost.com’s Pop Wrap column. “It’s so perfect, it’s so brilliant and it’s so unmistakably Alicia.”

“The Element of Freedom” is the follow up to Keys’ multi-platinum selling 2007 album As I Am, which featured the Grammy Award winning tune “No One” as well as hit singles “Like You’ll Never See Me Again,” Teenage Love Affair” and “Superwoman.”

If you haven’t heard “Doesn’t Mean Anything” check it out below! It’s a pretty solid song!

Lady Gaga Defends Kanye West’s VMA Incident

kanye west and lady gaga on tour

Kanye West is still struggling with the fall-out following his stage invasion at the MTV Video Music Awards, according to tourmate Lady Gaga.

The “Paparazzi” singer reveals the rapper “feels bad” about ruining Taylor Swift’s big moment by protesting her Best Female Video win at the beginning of the ceremony earlier this month.

Gaga says, “He’s a good guy and everybody makes mistakes, and he feels so f–king bad. He really does.”

And the pop star feels it’s time for people to stop taking aim at West: “Everyone likes to focus on gossip, but he’s changed music and he’s really prolific and an incredible person, and I think it’s unfair to judge somebody on one mistake they’ve made. That moment really portrayed him in a way that he really isn’t. It was just a random moment.”

West has since publicly apologized for his actions at the VMAs. Jay-z even commented a few weeks ago, saying “He (Kanye) didn’t kill anybody.”

Radio Jock Pushes Taylor Swift’s Buttons

taylorswiftredlips main

Taylor Swift was doing an interview on the MJ Morning Show, and she made it quite clear that she did not want to discuss the Kanye West incident on Sunday’s 2009 at the MTV Video Music Awards. drama of Sunday!

The interview didn’t start off well. The host, Todd “MJ” Schnitt was giving Taylor a hard time for starting the interview late.

Although he was given a list of facts about the country singer, MJ claims that he was never told to refrain from asking about the incident. So, Taylor answered the best she could and asked to change the subject THREE times, while the radio host pushed her by continually harping on the subject and giving her “tips” about her career.

Eventually, Taylor’s reps had to intervene and she ditched the call. Epic fail on her management’s part paired with the abrasive host, but Swift handled herself quite well, as usual.

Mj Morning Show www.mjmorningshow.com

Here’s what the MJ Morning show posted on their official website:

93.3 FLZ Program Director Tommy Chuck received an email from Taylor Swift’s handlers. Nowhere in the email was it forbidden that we ask about the Kanye West incident. It’s just a list of Taylor Swift facts. Did they really expect us to go down this list and ask softball questions? Did they really expect us to not ask about the biggest pop-culture event of the last few weeks? We all know, MJ doesn’t play softball and if we asked these questions, nobody would care…

We support Taylor Swift and aren’t mad at her. This was the fault of her handlers who didn’t prepare HER OR US for this interview.

Jay-Z Defends Kanye West VMA Incident

Jay-z Defends Kanye West

Jay-Z defended Kanye West on BBC Radio 1’s with Jo Whiley. Here’s what he had to say:

“Of course it was rude because it was her moment, but that’s the way he really felt…I think it was rude, but the way they’re treating him … He’s on the cover of every paper. He didn’t kill anybody. No one got harmed.”

The rapper admitted that Kanye was “inappropriate at the time,” but justifies the stunt because he is “a super-passionate person.”
