Lady Gaga To Open The Grammys With Sir Elton John

This Sunday’s Grammys will get a kick start like none other when Lady Gaga takes the stage to open the awards show. And she won’t be alone.

Rumors have been swirling all week that Gaga will be joined by Sir Elton John and E! News is confirming the report. According to their source, “They’ll be doing some sort of medley (‘Tiny Just Dancer’ or ‘Don’t Let the Bad Romance Go Down on Me’ perhaps?) set to a ‘factory’-themed set and costumes…We’re not quite sure whether Elton or Gaga will both be tickling the ivories, but at least one of them will. Gaga is said to be ‘rehearsing like crazy’ at Center Stage in Burbank, and one of the tracks getting practice time is ‘Telephone’.”

It was almost a decade ago that Sir Elton John joined Eminem for a duet at the Grammys. The two formed a friendship that would later find Elton coming to Eminem’s aide as he tried to kick his drug addiction. Something seems more fitting about Eminem teaming up with Gaga this time around.

Carrie Underwood To Sing National Anthem At The Super Bowl

Country sweetheart and former Idol winner Carrie Underwood will have the honor of singing the National Anthem at this year’s Super Bowl in Miami. Queen Latifah will be singing ‘America The Beautiful’ as well. The Who will provide the half-time entertainment.

The Super Bowl will be broadcast on CBS February 7, 2010.

Former Pussy Cat Doll Left Homeless

It’s hard to believe that a member of one of the most popular girl groups in the music business would be kicked to the curb and left homeless after suffering an injury while on tour, but, according to former Pussy Cat Dolls member Jessica Sutta, that’s exactly what happened to her.

In an interview in the upcoming issue of Life & Style magazine, Jessica says she suffered a fractured rib while on tour and was sent home to recover. The only problem is, Jessica didn’t have a home to go to since she had been on tour with the Dolls. Thankfully, one of Jessica’s friends let her crash on her couch.

Jessica also revealed that she was nothing more than a glorified back up dancer living in the shadow of PCD’s lead singer, Nicole Scherzinger.

Taylor Swift Breaks Female Download Record

Taylor Swift’s new single ‘Today Was A Fairytale’ off the soundtrack to her acting debut film Valentine’s Day has set a new record for the highest opening-week downloads by a female artist in the history of Nielsen SoundScan. ‘Today Was A Fairytale’ debuted at No. 1 on the Hot Digital Songs chart with 325,000 downloads, breaking the former record by 39,000 downloads which was set by Britney Spears’ ‘Womanizer’ in 2008.

Swift’s new single also debuted at No. 2 on the Hot 100 chart, coming in second to Ke$ha’s ‘Tik Tok’ which tops the chart for the sixth week in a row.

Katy Perry’s Twitter Account Was Hijacked

Katy Perry was upset her producer hacked into her Twitter.com account to post a series of embarrassing messages, such as “Is it normal to have the recurrent rash with blisters on my vagina???” while another said, “Oops I cr**ped my pants! It’s messy. What should I do?”

The I Kissed A Girl hit-maker was stunned when she discovered Lukasz Gottwald, also known as Dr. Luke, logged onto her page and wrote obscene comments for all her friends and fans to see.

After realizing she’d been pranked, Katy Perry blasted the songwriter, writing, “Hey stop! I leave my computer for one second. Stop hacking my Twitter.”

Rihanna Is Going To The Grammys “Alone”

“I’m going to the Grammys alone…I’m still single.” Rihanna dismisses reports she’s dating Los Angeles Dodgers baseball star Matt Kemp.

Matt has a controversial history – a former lover filed a restraining order against him. But the baseball star insists the court order, which was subsequently lifted, is a “non-issue.” His agent said, “Matt Kemp is a consummate Midwestern gentleman who has never displayed any act of violence towards a woman.”

Rihanna insists she won’t be taking the stage this year after she and Chris Brown caused the producers so much hassle in 2009. She says, “We messed their show up pretty bad last year. They might be a little mad at me.”

I think it’s a smart move for her to go to this years Grammy awards alone given it’s only been a year since Chris Brown beat her up.

Ke$ha Continues To Break More Records

There’s no escaping Ke$ha. She’s started 2010 off with a bang on top of the Billboard charts, the same place that Lady Gaga started 2009.

And now, one week after Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’ broke the record for most airplay of a song in one week with 10,859 plays, Ke$ha has come along and broken Gaga’s record with ‘Tik Tok’ getting 11,224 plays in a single week!

Hope For Haiti – Christina Aguilera Performs New Song ‘Lift Me Up’

I was in Egypt during the Hope For Haiti Telethon and missed the television broadcast, so I’ve been catching up on the performances since I returned home a couple of days ago. Christina Aguilera performed a new song off of her upcoming album called ‘Lift Me Up’ and I believe this is one of her best performances to date. Aguilera is known for incredible vocal performances, but here she takes it to another level with the power of her emotions in the delivery of each word. It was truly and inspiring moment and a great way for Aguilera to introduce the world to her upcoming album. After her Back To Basics album, it’s good to have the old Aguilera back that we’ve come to know and love.

Jesse McCartney Furious Over Nude Photo Scandal

Pop singer, Jesse McCartney has pissed off one very bitter ex-girlfriend, The NY Post’s Page Six Column claims. The tabloid has reportedly obtained a photo of what they believe is the 22-year-old singer/actor sprawled nude across a bed with a G-string made of candy covering his genitals.

“An ex of his took it and has been sending it around,” says a spy.

A lawyer for McCartney had this to say about the naked picture: “Mr. McCartney did not knowingly participate in the taking of this photo and did not consent to the taking of such a photo. In addition, the alleged photo of Mr. McCartney appears to have been manipulated and doctored by computer software.”

The attorney warns anyone that publishes this picture will be a “grave invasion of Mr. McCartney’s privacy rights” and vows to pursue any perpetrators for “substantial monetary damages.”
