LEONA LEWIS, STILL #1

 

Leona Lewis has quickly become a superstar. After winning the British reality show The X-Factor, she conquered Europe with her debut album and now she’s conquering the US with her first single “Bleeding Love.” This week she’s #1 for the third week in a row on The American Top 40 Countdown. It’s still hard to believe that “Bleeding Love” was co-written by Jesse McCartney…who knew he actually had talent! He’s definitely making the big bucks now thanks to Leona’s success.

ARCHULETA TO SING ‘IMAGINE’ AT FINALE

It was reported this morning on KIIS-FM in Los Angeles that David Archuleta will repeat his performance of “Imagine” by John Lennon at the Idol Finale on Tuesday night. Is this a good decision for David? His dad probably told him to do it…

“Imagine” was one of the most memorable performances on this season of Idol, so maybe it will help David take home the title this week. I, personally, do not think that the producer’s song choices were fair on last week’s show. It was obvious that David Cook was their favorite going into the finale. Hopefully, David’s repeat performance of “Imagine” will remind everyone why he should be this year’s American Idol. His performance has had over 1.2 millions views on Youtube! Unfortunately, the odds might be against him. Repeating a popular performance didn’t work for Katherine McPhee when she sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” during the Season 5 finale. We’ll have to wait and see what happens!

DAVID ARCHULETA – HIS STAGE DAD BANNED FROM AMERICAN IDOL?

 

 

Haven’t we learned anything from stage moms? David Archuleta’s stage dad needs to back off!

 

Looks like the Idol producers have finally had enough. David’s overbearing stage dad, Jeff, has been banned from all rehearsals for the show.  There have been negative reports surrounding Archuleta’s dad all season, so this latest news comes as no surprise. 

 

According to an insider, Jeff’s intense involvement backstage has been a growing concern with the Idol producers. The final straw came when Jeff made a change in the lyrics for David’s performance of “Stand By Me” during last week’s show. Jeff insisted that David sing a verse from Sean Kingston’s “Beautiful Girls.”  However, the change was not approved and producers had already warned Jeff against it. Because Jeff forced David to sing the verse, which was against the orders of the show’s producers, Fox had to fork-over additional money. 

 

What does all of this mean for David? Hopefully, he can relax a little. He looks like he’s afraid his dad will beat him if he screws up! I’m sure his dad thinks that he’s been doing the right thing by telling David every move to make, but he’s destroying his son’s life. All he wants is David’s money! 

 

Remember when David was on Star Search a few years ago? His dad was banned from lot because he screamed at his son and harassed the other contestants! In the end, David lost the competition. Will history repeat itself on Idol? 

 

Maybe Fox should consider doing a special with Simon Cowell and Jeff Archuleta. I’d love to watch Simon rip him a new one!

There’s no doubt that these guys are extremely talented and pretty clever, too. I think they might be the first to sell their Youtube covers. But, with the current slump in the music business, will this new idea actually sell? We’ll have to wait and see.
