Carrie Underwood’s Stellar Star Spangled Banner
Yesterday, the entire country came to a stop as the Colts and the Saints went head to head at the Super Bowl in Miami and Carrie Underwood was there to kick things of by singing the National Anthem. Singing the Star Spangled Banner has become one of the biggest highlights in a pop star’s long list of achievements.
Whitney Houston’s performance sparked quite a controversy in 1991 when she decided to lip sync to a recording due to the humid air conditions in Tampa. At last year’s Super Bowl, Jennifer Hudson made her first public appearance since the unfortunate deaths of her mother and brother to perform the National Anthem.
With all of the pressure surrounding this single performance, Carrie Underwood delivered one stellar performance.
John Mayer Tells Playboy Magazine “I Consider Myself A Good Guy”

John Mayer may have had a string of celebrity beauties, such as, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Jennifer Aniston, but he wants to let everyone know he doesn’t think he’s such a bad boyfriend or a terrible guy.
He tells Playboy magazine, “I consider myself a good guy, with the best of intentions. Anyone who has been in a relationship with me would stand by the fact that I’ve never been callous. I’ve never been a bad boy. I may have taken someone through the wringer psychologically, but I’ve never been sinister.”
Mr. Mayer….we still think you’re a playa.
Lady Gaga Credits Her Dead Aunts Spirit For Getting Off Cocaine

Lady Gaga credits her dead aunt’s spirit for helping her get off her cocaine addiction. Apparently right before Lady Gaga shot to fame she was fighting her cocaine addiction but fortunately with the help of her aunt’s spirit, she was able to stop taking drugs.
She tells Britain’s News of the World, “I realized my father’s sister, Joanne, who’d died at 19, had instilled her spirit in me. She was a painter and a poet – and I had a spiritual vision I had to finish her business. I never met her but she’s been one of the most important figures in my life.”
Lady Gaga’s Emotional Reaction To Grammy Wins

Lady Gaga won two Grammys for best dance recording (Poker Face) and electronic/dance album (The Fame) during the pre-telecast, so we were unable to see her reaction, but, thanks to Twitter, Gaga tweeted this photo to show her little monsters just how moved she was by the news.
Along with the photo, Gaga tweeted:
“beautiful photo taken of me the moment I found out i won my grammys. All the hundreds of songs I wrote, the thousands of shows, the fans, all the blood and tears flashing instantly. photo by haus member the famous “Dada” Williams.”
Kelly Clarkson Chimes In On The Taylor Swift Grammy Controversy

Kelly Clarkson has written an open letter to a record executive who defended Taylor Swift’s off-key performance at the 2010 Grammy Awards by declaring. Scott Borchetta came to Swift’s aid on Thursday after critics picked apart her duet with Stevie Nicks at the Los Angeles ceremony last Sunday. Scott Borchetta felt that Swift should be excused for the slip.
He said, “This is not American Idol. This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator. It’s not about that technically perfect performance.”
Kelly Clarkson took this quite personal, here’s what she had to say.
In a post on her official blog, she writes, “Wow… Dear Scott Borchetta, I understand defending your artist obviously because I have done the same in the past for artists I like, including Taylor, so you might see why it’s upsetting to read you attacking American Idol for producing simply vocalists that hit ‘the high notes’… You know what, we not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the ‘right’ notes as well. Every artist has a bad performance or two and that is understandable, but throwing blame will not make the situation at hand any better.”
“I have been criticized left and right for having shaky performances before (and they were shaky) and what my manager or label executives say to me and the public is ‘I’ll kick butt next time’ or ‘every performance isn’t going to be perfect’. I bring this up because you should take a lesson from these people and instead of lashing out at other artists (that in your ‘humble’ opinion lack true artistry), you should simply take a breath and realize that sometimes things won’t go according to plan or work out and that’s okay.”
The pop star then signed her message, “Sincerely, One of those contestants from American Idol who only made it because of her high notes.”
So there you have it! What side are you on? Hahaha
Carrie Underwood To Make Film Debut

It’s not enough to be just a country music superstar anymore. Now, you’ve got to act, as well.
Carrie Underwood is set to make her feature film debut in the indie-drama titled “Soul Surfer”, which is based on the life of teen surfing champ and shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton. Underwood will play a church youth leader. How appropriate…The film will also star Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid.
This isn’t Underwood’s first acting job, and it certainly won’t be her last. She recently filmed an episode of How I Met Your Mother and had her very own holiday variety special on tv. Underwood can also be seen stretching her acting chops in her most recent music video for ‘Temporary Home’. If that’s any indication, Underwood is turning into quite an actress.
Are you excited for Carrie’s film debut?
Nick Cannon Lands Justin Bieber For “School Gyrls”

Lady Antebellum’s Big Debut

Lady Antebellum has quickly made quite a name for themselves. Leading into 2010, the country trio won vocal group and single of the year at the Country Music Awards in November. At the 2010 Grammys, the band won the award for Best Country Performance by a duo or group with vocals for their single ‘I Run To You’. And now, Lady Antebellum’s sophomore album Need You Now has debuted on top of the Billboard 200 chart by selling 481,000 copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
This is the biggest debut for a country album since November 2008 and it’s also the biggest debut sales week for any album since Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream topped the Billboard 200 with 701,000 in November 2009.
Congratulations!

Beyoncé To Collaborate With Kings Of Leon?

On the heels of the most successful night in Grammys’ history, Beyoncé’s already set her eyes on a collaboration with fellow Grammy winners Kings Of Leon.
According to a source, “Beyonce looked stunning and was chatting to virtually every major star on hand. She kissed Kings of Leon on their cheeks and congratulated them on winning an award for Use Somebody. They were chatting for ages. She knows how huge they are in the UK and loves their album. She was scouting for people to collaborate with and has been talking about doing something different with a rock band. Kings of Leon would be perfect.”
